Selling The OC star Alex Hall has broken her silence on her split from Ian Young, revealing that their breakup was far messier than what initially appeared.
The former couple announced their breakup in November 2025 during an Instagram Q⁘A, after several months together, with Hall describing the situation as ⁘a complete cluster f***.⁘
⁘I moved to Temecula with an open heart, but some things came to light that did not align with what I want my and my kids' future to look like,⁘ she said, according to Us Weekly .
The split came shortly after the release of Selling The OC Season 4 , in which the couple appeared to hint at possible marriage plans. ⁘Trying to merge both [lifestyles] is what we're trying to figure out right now. But everything's going great, and I'm still very excited,⁘ Hall previously told Tudum .
Nearly two months after the breakup, Hall opened up further about what happened behind the scenes. ⁘I've been crying on and off all day,⁘ she shared on her podcast, reflecting on the emotional toll of her split from Young.
What began as excitement over moving in together and buying a home in Temecula soon exposed deeper issues, Hall says, that she initially overlooked. ⁘I have overanalyzed every detail of our relationship,⁘ Hall shared on her podcast. ⁘When we got back together that third time, when we bought the house. That's like the honeymoon phase for us.⁘
