St. George residents sound off on incorporation

ST. GEORGE, La. (WAFB) - If you take a look around the newest city in East Baton Rouge Parish (EBR), you probably won't notice anything all that different yet. It's only the first day since voters said yes to the city of St. George, but you'll still see the words "City of Baton Rouge" on items like trashcans that have been set out on curbs.

* * *

In the Bluebonnet area of the new city, according to complete but unofficial election results from the Secretary of State's Office, the majority of voters were against the incorporation.

On Earle's street, all the yard signs are gone. It's hardly reminiscent of an area that just went through a possibly neighborhood-altering election less than a day ago.

It wasn't the outcome Earle, or many in his direct area voted for, but it appears change is happening regardless.

DeShon Elliott likely out for the rest of the season with a knee injury - Baltimore Beatdown

Ravens ' HC John Harbaugh dropped a bombshell in his weekly Monday press conference today following the team's victory over Cincinnati! How to Fish on St. George Island | Gone Outdoors | Your ...goneoutdoors.com/fish- ...island -5641021.html The St. George Island Bridge, also known as State Road 300, is the only driving route to the island; it crosses Apalachicola Bay just south of U.S. Route 98 in Eastpoint. A free public boat launch and a 600-foot fishing pier are just east of the bridge on St. George Island. St .!! Harbaugh announced that defensive back DeShon Elliott is likely to miss the remainder of the season.

* * *

This is quite a crushing blow not just to the team, but for Elliott himself. The second-year safety missed his entire rookie campaign with broken forearm and now has his first taste of action cut short after just six games.

Elliott, 22, had flashed for Baltimore at times this season, albeit in a limited role. However, that role was set to expand in the wake of Tony Jefferson 's season-ending torn ACL. Against the Bengals , Elliott played more snaps and made a key play in the second half, laying a big hit on WR Tyler Boyd to prevent a contested catch on Marlon Humphrey .

The Lounge Bar Orchestra: Omeroyd Sound - EP review

The library music of the 60s and 70s and the Lounge Bar Orchestra in particular get put under the microscope by author Greg Healey….Ian Canty tunes in to find the Test Match has been rained off and Testcard F with music accompaniment on instead….

This new EP Omeroyd Sound brings together three tracks originally recorded for television during the 70s by conductor and arranger Reg Omeroyd with his crack outfit the Lounge Bar Orchestra. He brought the group together in 1968 at Ousewater Television to provide incidental music and themes for their programmes. Early successes for the band were the memorable opening title music to the Mollie Sugden agricultural comedy My Mum’s A Ploughman and scoring cop show Work A Flanker, a rare starring role for Michael Ripper as hard-bitten copper Eddie Flanker. This alone kept the band in Woodbines and hard liqueur for at least a month.

Google Maps add new descriptive audio directions to help visually impaired people | The

Google has added new voice directions that will make the app easier to use for people with visual impairments.

The app will now give people more information about where they are, and when they should be using extra caution, as they move around places.

It is intended to make it easier for people to walk around with more confidence while travelling in unknown and unfamiliar places.

* * *

For now, the feature is only available in the US and Japan, but is likely to roll out across more areas with time.

People with visual impairments worked with the tech giant to build the new option, providing more thorough verbal guidance, such as the distance until their next turn and the direction they are walking.

When coming up to a large intersection, users receive a warning to cross with extra caution, while a spoken notification will let them know they are being rerouted if they have accidentally gone in the wrong direction.
