‘The Amazing Race's' Courtney And Jasmin On Their Disastrous Roadblock And Why They ‘Will...

Leg 3 of The Amazing Race was a heartbreaker for Courtney Ramsey and Jasmin Carey . In Wednesday's episode, the dating nurses were in the middle of the pack heading into the Roadblock in Kyoto, Japan. But when Courtney, a self-proclaimed ⁘band kid,⁘ took her shot at a game of kemari (similar to hacky sack), their race came to a screeching halt. One by one, every team passed them by until, ultimately, they were in last place — where they finished out the day with host Phil Keogan sending them home.

⁘Initially when we got [to the Roadblock], we read the clue and said 'yes' at the same time, which surprised me!⁘ Jasmin tells Gold Derby (watch the video interview above). Courtney adds, ⁘[Jasmine] did the last physical, hard thing so I thought I could do this. But, there was a part of me when I saw on the TV screen — I looked a little unsure!⁘

Once they reached the Detour, Courtney and Jasmin were relieved to see other teams still racing. Unfortunately, building giant origami cranes wasn't in their wheelhouse either. ⁘When we went in there our game plan was to stay focused, pay attention to detail — all things we are trained in as nurses,⁘ Jasmin says. ⁘But as you're watching other teams finish and it's getting closer and closer to us being the last team there, you do have emotions creep up. There was a moment I had to pause because I was getting frustrated. We were trying so hard to remember all those small, intricate details. One wrong thing with origami and it becomes nothing like what you're supposed to be folding!⁘ In the end, Bernie Gutierrez and Carrigain Scadden slipped away from them and became the last team to move on in the race.
