Debuting a stunning set of handmade designs, Paolo Carzana is taking London Fashion Week by storm, with his latest looks he made completely alone in his studio in Cardiff, Wales. Deemed "Another World, " by the new designer, these designs showcase looks straight from a reverie.
Composed of draping fabrics, intricate layers, and delicate knots and ties, "Another World," is a dream within itself, transporting you to another timeline as you take in the fantasy-inspired romantic pieces.
Jarring whites contrast with bright yellows and deep maroons within the collection, representing an earthy influence. Dyed completely with natural dyes such as strawberries, lavender, turmeric, and madder root, the organic materials used for the fabrics also represent a deeper connection to the earth spiritually.
"Open-heart" shirts and tops with various torso cut-outs stand out within the collection, sitting on the body as if it were molded to it, or melting down, displaying detailed rips that Carzana uses as a signature.
Another signature Carzana features within "Another World," are the headpieces. Whether it be an extension of the garment itself, or a standalone item, the headpieces sit atop the crown in a halo-like way casting a glow around the face that contributes further to the otherworldly aspects of the collection.
Sprawling tapestry-coats also peek through in the collection, with delicate patterns and stand-out shoulder shape.
However, what stands out the most is the structure of each piece. Extra long sleeves, skin-tight tunics, plunging v-necks and draping pants combined with layer after layer of intricate styling make up a distinct design structure that Carzana can call his own.
While presenting the collection at London Fashion Week, a video focusing on the details of each piece was also produced, portraying each look in hyper-speed from head-to-toe in a dreamy filter.

The Flash Movie Costume Teased by Director Andy Muschietti – /Film
Production on The Flash is currently underway in the U.K. It’s the first solo adventure for Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster, and he’ll have some exciting company with him in the form of Michael Keaton returning as Tim Burton’s version of Batman. Director Andy Muschietti recently teased The Dark Knight’s suit from the set of the DC Comics movie, and now he’s given the Crimson Comet the same courtesy, revealing a tease of the Flash movie costume, including a revised lightning logo.
Andy Muschietti posted the above image on Instagram without offering any caption, other than a tag for the official Instagram account for The Flash . It’s not quite as ominous or thrilling as seeing the old school Batman logo with some blood dripped on it, but at least it provides a glimpse of the new costume The Flash will be speeding around in.
This version of The Flash suit looks far less industrial than the one that Ezra Miller wore for Justice League . The previous suit looked like snap-on armor fitted onto a skin-tight suit, complete with metal wires wrapped around certain areas. It looked like it was made to help conduct electricity, whereas this new suit almost looks like it’s made to prevent electricity from harming Barry Allen.
Based on the above photo, the new costume looks rubbery, perhaps as a way of insulating The Flash and keeping him safe from any electricity that he might generate while running at high speeds. It actually has a retro feel to it, which makes me wonder if the suit The Flash originally wears will be destroyed in some way, prompting Bruce Wayne to make a new suit for him.
Along with an endless amount of grooves in the suit that make it look like a basketball, there’s a new logo for The Flash that resembles the classic logo a bit more, giving it a golden metal shimmer. We’re not sure what those grooves are in the gold ring, but it’s interesting that they seem to connect to the circular lines in the silver part of the logo. This may also have something to do with how the suit reacts to the electricity created by The Flash’s super speed.
Hopefully we’ll have a look at the full suit soon. With production underway in London, there are bound to be spy photos that catch Ezra Miller in the full ensemble. But if production is spending a lot of time indoors on soundstages rather than shooting on location, then we might have to wait a bit.

The new 10-episode series created by Annie Weisman ("About a Boy") is set in the idyllic but fragile beach paradise of sunny 1980s San Diego. Sheila Rubin (Byrne), a dutiful housewife supporting her husband's bid for state assembly. She's also battling a complicated collection of personal demons that have to do with her self-image.
Byrne says, "In a funny way, 'Physical' felt like such a great companion piece because Sheila is a young woman but definitely has come up through the ’60s and ’70s so she’s sort of a child of that movement and yet she’s become quite disillusioned by it, I think under the surface.
"This is really following sort of a feminist from that time and discovering her real source of empowerment is to have financial independence, to have economic independence and so on and so forth, but she has no agency and she has no way to do that."
The Aussie actor, who was born in 1979, finds that time period to be fascinating. It comes after decades of women battling for equal rights but the struggles for independence continued in the '80s.
The search for a personal for Sheila starts with her finding a passion for exercise. But that slowly changes as she discovers a way to merge her newfound passion with the new technology of videotape to start a revolutionary business. "There's so many internalized feelings of self-hatred," Weisman adds. "It’s not about what you see in the mirror, but it’s about what you’ve absorbed from the culture, from your family, and from your experience. And that’s a lot of what we’re exploring in the show is that divide."
