The star's character is said to be a modern woman in a crisis who is also trying to raise her son, Larch [Toby Woolf] in the midst of a female revolution.
Mandy is also seen mining the pain of her parents' separation when she falls upon a troubled man, Pete, who is searching for belonging and 'restored' male identity.
Rare Beasts was written back in 2012 when Billie was pregnant with her second son, Eugene, who she shares with her ex husband Laurence Fox.
And although the 'anti-romantic comedy' premiering at the Venice Film Festival back in 2019, it has only now been given a release date of May 21.

A long-awaited reunion special hits HBO Max on May 26th and we couldn’t be more excited to return to Central Perk again ( Gunther and his neon shirts better be back or we riot).
What stands out above everything, though, is the fashion. Oh, the fashion . Denim! Oversized sweatshirts! Overalls ! Mini skirts! Denim!
With the reunion trailer just dropping (how has Jennifer Aniston not aged one day?), we thought it was the perfect opportunity to reminisce about the fashion choices in Friends . We’ve looked at the style of the six main friends individually and also listed 4 of our favourite looks that deserve special mention.
In the 90’s, bowling shirts weren’t yet embarrassingly retro and Chandler (Matthew Perry) loved to sport a garish example or three. Apart from that, nothing that he wore really stood out. Lots of cosy sweatshirts, lots of uninspired button-ups, jeans in almost every episode. Could he BE any more plain?
It’s lucky that Joey (Matt LeBlanc) was so charming because his fashion definitely wasn’t going to win over the ladies. An out-of-work actor for much of the show’s run and it showed in his dress sense. No matching, no sense of style, nothing. Joey wore what was easiest – when you’re eating that much greasy pizza, it’s best to wear cheap and cheerful clothes.
Ross (David Schwimmer) really fitted the stereotype of the boring intellectual. Lots of ill-fitting suits. Elbow patches when he became a professor. Jumpers that you might find in a rummage in Salvos. Lots of disgusting ties. When Ross went to Rachel’s fashion lecture that one time, he really should have been paying attention instead of nodding off. At least we’ll always have those leather pants.
Oh Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), you kook. The character was marketed as the oddball in the group from the start and for the first few seasons, she was the definitive hippy. She wore what she wanted and wore the hell out of it. No ludicrous and bright dress was too much for Princess Consuela Banana Hammock . As the show progressed, she became less hippy and more sassy woman about town but her style never got less out-there.
Monica (Courteney Cox) was always a little in her best friend Rachel’s shadow. She might have kept it simpler but she could still rock a look now and again. Her style was less feminine and more flexible – she was equally comfortable wearing acid jeans and a shirt as she was wearing a stunning cocktail dress.
Rihanna Goes Back to Short Hair With Her Latest Hairstyle
Rihanna has had so many iconic beauty moments since first emerging with 2005’s “Pon de Replay.” She started her music career with long curly hair that extended past her shoulders before going on to all kinds of looks like cropped hair and bright-colored wigs. Now, she has a pixie cut, drawing on a popular look from her earlier career.
Going by a report from The Cut , it seems Rihanna debuted the hairstyle on May 6, when she reportedly stepped out to have dinner at a restaurant in Santa Monica, California.
According to The Cut, Rihanna first had the hairstyle in 2012, famously rocking it to that year’s MTV Video Music Awards along with a simple, white sleeveless gown and a bold red lip. The Huffington Post called the look “perfect.”
The change comes amid a report from The Sun alleging Rihanna has been working on her highly anticipated ninth album . It does not have a name just yet, but her fans have dubbed in R9 . Rihanna previously said she hoped to release R9 in 2019 , but she’s struggled to balance music with all her other businesses.
"I can't wait to put something out that I'm really proud of and excited about," she previously told Access Online when asked about the project . "It probably is gonna be sooner than my fans think, but I'm just gonna leave that alone because I got enough stress, questions, and, 'R9, when's the album coming.' They don't leave me alone. I haven't neglected them. Music is still my baby."
R9 will be Rihanna’s first studio album since 2016’s Anti , which spawned the hugely popular song “Work.” Content-wise, she mentioned to British Vogue that R9 will have reggae influences, but it’s not limited to one sound.
"I don't want my albums to feel like themes," she told the publication. "There are no rules. There's no format. There's just good music, and if I feel it, I'm putting it out."
"I feel like I have no boundaries. I've done everything – I've done all the hits, I've tried every genre – now I'm just, I'm wide open. I can make anything that I want," she continued.
