Gwen Stefani Debuts New Hairstyle During 'The Voice' Performance

As previously reported by E! News , Stefani has rocked the platinum look for over two decades and always looks flawless. Her hairstylist, Danilo, told the outlet in 2016 the secret to how she achieves her trademark hue. "We haven't used bleach since 2004," Danilo revealed, adding "I developed a high-lift formula that achieves the same effect but saves the quality of her hair. I did a lot of research and really looked at places of origins for blond hair color like Germany and Scandinavia. I've spent years finding and testing new lines and technology."

"Every Monday in the trailer when she's doing 'The Voice ,' I color, wash and treat her hair," he continued. With that being said, Stefani has had her fair share of transformations over the years . In 1998, she attended the MTV Video Music Awards with blue hair , and also famously went through a phase of having both cotton candy and magenta pink locks .

During a recent appearance on "The Voice," Stefani debuted a new hairstyle she's never had before. Keep reading to find out more.

During "The Voice's" Season 20 finale on May 25, Gwen Stefani returned to the show to perform her latest single " Slow Clap " with rapper Saweetie. As always, the Grammy Award winner and fashion designer looked very glam, walking on-stage in a black bra, dazzling netted crop top, and sparkly black-and-white checkered mini-skirt. Stefani teamed the ensemble with black heels and accessorized with numerous bracelets. She was joined by a series of dancers who were all performing choreography in front of a black-and-white themed visual.

To match the aesthetic of the performance, Stefani stunned in a two-tone hairstyle. She rocked a black ponytail and full fringe while keeping the sides her signature platinum blond shade. She also showed off the look in a series of Instagram selfies before the performance.

Unsurprisingly, viewers noticed the bold new look and had something to say via social media. One person commented on her Instagram slideshow in all-caps. "YOUR HAIR ARE YOU KIDDING ME," they shared . After one user tweeted , "What's up with the hair?" a fan was quick to respond with, "It's an old school ska reference!" they explained. "Just like the checkerboard patterns, the shape and color of the bangs and the silhouette of the skirt!" Another viewer summed it all up by tweeting , "Great performance @gwenstefani. loved the hair, outfit, energy & spirit of this song. Keep being you babe you're a beautiful bright ray of sunshine."

5 unusual wedding dress trends for the unconventional bride

From something borrowed to something blue, weddings have a rich history of traditions that people incorporate into their special day.

This is especially true for wedding gowns that are typically white, long, ball gowns with a veil and train.

In recent years, brides are moving away from the conventional and opting for outfits that highlight their personality, make them feel beautiful and favour fashion over tradition.

When we think of a wedding dress, we think floor-length, grazing the ground with either a skirt that balloons outwards or a train that trails down the aisle.

However, shorter dresses were all the rage in the late 1960s and '70s along with the rise of the mini skirt, covered with ornate lace patterns, beading and paired with sheer white stocking and court heels.

Nowadays, the styles have evolved to become even more stunning. Statement sleeves, loose-flowing fits with a boho feel, flouncy flapper feathered hems or even vintage, the options for short dresses are endless and can suit a myriad wedding themes.

With brides no longer limiting themselves to shades of white when it comes to their gowns, we can thank the daring Vera Wang for this.

She's the biggest trendsetter in the design industry, bringing coloured wedding gowns to the forefront of bridal fashion.

The coloured dresses are often paired with the trend of having the rest of the bridal party wearing the same shade (sometimes neutrals like beige, white or black) to allow the bride's colourful dress to pop even more.

12 Memorial Day Outfit Ideas | InStyle

Contrary to what any calendar says, everyone knows summer unofficially kicks off Memorial Day Weekend. This year, we're more than ready to celebrate the start of the season — not to mention dress for the occasion. Say goodbye to your sweats and loungewear; it's officially time to trade them in for swimwear, sundresses, and crop tops.

Another go-to look Angeles suggests is a halter top paired with straight leg jeans and platform sandals.

"[It's] a light and airy outfit to keep you cool and comfortable," she tells InStyle . Plus, knitwear is particularly (and not uncomfortably) hot for summer 2021, so consider this an invitation to hop on the trend.

Matching sets were your best friend in quarantine, and they'll still be your BFF for #shotgirlsummer for a host of reasons. But the big draw is that the outfit is already planned for you. All the look requires is accessorizing, so "top off the set with a large sun hat and complete the look with strappy, lace up sandals and a mini shoulder bag," says Angeles.

LA-based stylist, Lindsey Dupuis Bledsoe looks to style icons like Jackie O and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy for MDW outfit inspiration.

"The way they wore a classic white button down and trousers was so effortless and elegant, reminding us that less is more," she says. The classic style can still be achieved today, and according to Bledsoe, all you need is a simple top, casual trousers (even white denim), a leather sandal, scarf, and oversized sunglasses. "I would update the look by adding a Janessa Leone hat — my go-to summer staple."

Colors that spark joy, such as lime green, bubblegum pink, and yellow, are popping up everywhere, but if these eye-catching hues are a little too much for your personal style or way outside your comfort zone, Bledsoe recommends incorporating them into your accessories.

"If the bright lights scare you," Bledsoe says, "go for a matching metallic or basket weave purse and shoe combination. Keeping your accessories uniform amps up a basic look."

5 Australian creatives show us how they style knee high boots - Fashion Journal

I am here to tell you – it is my mission today – that the knee-high boot is the new power suit. The new power anything really, because there is nothing more satisfying than clomping into a room (I love to clomp, it’s my favourite way to get around) and knowing you look boot scootin'. Too much?

In all seriousness, I’ve been obsessed since Bottega Veneta’s famous lug boots took over my entire Instagram feed. The iterations of the knee-high boot since have only gotten better (and more affordable), with some of my favourite local brands offering up their own version.

Below, I asked five Australian creatives to show me how they style their knee high boots because a) I’m short on outfit ideas and b) I’m nosy. Please enjoy the fruits of my labour.

These are the Tammy Boot from Aeyde and I love them because the leather is so soft yet structured and the chunky rubber sole is so sturdy. I've been wearing them with shorts and a baggy jumper, or sometimes a mini dress with a long heavy wool coat over the top. You could also do the Princess Di and wear them tucked into jeans with a shirt and blazer.

I love how a new style of knee high boots starts trending every winter! Mine are more calf-length, so I've paired them with some knee high socks over tights to add dimension. This layering on the bottom is hot – looks good and feels warmer than just plain tights, allowing me to feel comfy wearing a skirt in winter despite what people may say [laughs].

I've pared the look down with a black mock neck long sleeve (worn inside out because the print on the other side didn't work and exposed seams are hot right now, which means it's never been a better time to wear your clothes inside out!). For a pop of colour and intrigue, I'm wearing my tie dress as a skirt. It was handmade by my best friend Kat of @shoppureobsession out of recycled ties. The Telfar was the perfect colour to tie it all in! And of course, I have my arm warmers for chaotic cosy energy.

I got my first pair of knee high boots at the start of this year and they've made my outfits so much cooler ever since! Knee high boots are the easiest way to take an outfit to the next level and [make it] look like you put in so much effort, when in reality you just slipped them on. My ultimate combo is a mini skirt or dress with my green knee highs, but I wear my black and white pairs just as often.

I absolutely love knee high boots, they're comfortable, practical and so sleek. I enjoy the nostalgic '90s feel, particularly with a square toe and chunky block heel. They're a staple in my wardrobe, all year round. My favourite way to style them is with skirts and dresses with bare legs, or [with] tights in the colder months. I love how strong and sexy I feel in them. Elevates a look with ease! This pair is from Zomp .

I absolutely adore knee-high boots and truly believe that they have the magic ability to elevate any outfit into a memorable one. I already have about five pairs and don't see the collection stopping any time soon. The pair I'm wearing in this photo are my absolute favourites (don't tell the others). I got them from Asos a year or two ago and they have not disappointed. For this outfit, I just paired them with one of my favourite staple dresses from Lioness and a gold Mejuri necklace.
