Aavin revises milk price for all categories - The Hindu

Aavin on Saturday announced new prices after the rate reduction announced by the State government on Friday. Half a litre of toned milk (blue packet) will now cost ₹20 in place of ₹21.50 and monthly card holders would have to pay ₹18.50.

Standardised milk (green magic) would now be priced ₹22 (500 ml), full cream milk (orange packs) ₹24 (500 ml) and double toned milk (purple packs) ₹18.50 (500 ml).

For a 30-day cycle, cardholders would pay ₹555 for 500 ml toned milk, ₹630 for 500 ml standardised milk, ₹690 for 500 ml full cream milk and ₹540 for 500 ml of double toned milk. Cardholders who paid in advance are being told that the excess amount would be adjusted next month.

This reduction by ₹3 per litre would lead to an additional expense of ₹270 crore annually for the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation, whose popular brand is Aavin.

Aavin can tide over the financial burden by tightening its purse strings and by improving its marketing network, a former official said. "It spends around ₹1 crore a month giving 75 paise a litre to ten C and F agents with a promise that they will increase sales by 3 lakh litres a day. However, this has not happened. The system of supplying milk through the agents, then wholesale and retailers must be changed," he said.

A distributor said that the present marketing team and system must be overhauled. "Conversion of milk into milk powder must be reduced. Daily around 4.5 lakh litres are converted and it costs around ₹12 a litre. District unions in Tiruchi, Coimbatore, Kanniyakumari and Tirunelveli do not convert the milk into powder and sell all the milk they procure, which helps them remain profit-making unions," he said.

Another former official said that focus should be on increasing milk sales to commercial establishments and by setting up more retail outlets. "If availability of milk is improved, more consumers would be attracted to Aavin, especially after the reduction in prices. Distributors who sell other brands of milk too want to take up Aavin sales," he said.

Producers supplying cow's milk with 4.3% fat and 8.2% solids-non-fat in a litre of cow's milk would be paid ₹32 per litre and those supplying their respective cooperative societies buffalo's milk with 7% fat and 8.8% SNF would be paid ₹41 per litre. "These prices have been in effect from August 2019," said an official.

Corum Sails on Gilded Waves with New Admiral 45 Automatic Openworked Flying Tourbillon Carbon

Since Corum’s original Admiral’s Cup debuted in the 1960s as the quintessential timepiece for avid regatta fans and sailors, the model has become both a flagship (pun intended) of that Swiss watch brand and the foundation of an extensive and versatile modern collection, dubbed simply Admiral. The latest and most avant-garde evolution arrived at Watches & Wonders 2021, bringing together a skeletonized flying tourbillon caliber and a distinctive carbon-and-gold bi-material case construction.

Limited to just 48 pieces and referred to by Corum as the year’s “stand-out star,” the Admiral 45 Automatic Openworked Flyoing Tourbillon Carbon & Gold ushers a new case material into the manufacturer’s portfolio, made from fluctuating layers of ultra-light carbon and interspersed with areas of 18k gold glitter. The process used to create the case, which measures 45 mm in diameter and features the Admiral collection’s hallmark dodecagonal bezel, renders each one subtly unique from all the rest. The 5N rose gold crown, embedded between black-toned crown guards, helps render the case water-resistant to 100 meters.

The black and gold details continue on the openworked dial, which is essentially a panoramic view of the movement, Corum’s in-house, automatic Caliber CO 298, equipped with a 3-Hz flying tourbillon escapement at the 6 o’clock position. Two gold-toned Dauphine hands display the hour and minute on black pennant-shaped hour markers, inspired by the nautical flags of the original Admiral’s Cup watch, and a gold-toned brass minute ring on the flange. Also displayed on the face are a “STOP/START” power reserve indicator at 3 o’clock (the movement holds 72 hours) and a three-minute regatta countdown subdial at 9 o’clock, another nod to the model’s yacht-racing heritage.

Like its case, the timepiece’s strap is bi-material, made from rubber and synthetic textiles and embellished with genuine gold stitching to echo the case, the skeleton dial, and even the detailing on the wheel-shaped rotor of the movement, which is on display behind the sapphire exhibition caseback. The sturdy strap fastens to the wrist with a black PVD-coated titanium buckle. The Admiral 45 Automatic Openworked Flying Tourbillon Carbon & Gold is set to retail at $59,800.

With production on movies and TV shows shut down during the early months of the pandemic, Tatum said he allowed his typically regimented diet and weight loss plan to fall by the wayside, gaining "a nice 10 pounds" along the way.

"For the first week or two weeks, I definitely was just drinking beers and riding dirt bikes, but I was like, 'I can't do this for two months. This is bad,'" he told Fallon.

After realizing how much weight he'd gained, Tatum decided to recommit to his fitness routine with a friend.

"We started training every day and it was great. I came out a completely new person," said the actor.

"I wanted Channing to be eating every two hours to give his body all the essential nutrients it needed to fuel training, burn fat, and build muscle," said Babaian.

Babaian says the actor typically ate protein-rich meals consisting of eggs, chicken, turkey, or steak with vegetables, in addition to a vegetable-based smoothie with "very little fruit." And for more on how your favorite stars stay fit, Ariana Grande Calls This Workout Her "Happy Place" in New Pic .

Later in the day, the pair would typically tackle a weight-based routine. "This consisted of weight training focused on one body part, such as chest, back, or legs, followed by a conditioning circuit," said Babaian. "The key thing was to ensure that no two workouts were exactly the same." And for more celebrity fitness routines, Vanessa Hudgens Just Shared Her Intense Butt Workout .
