Cardi B unveiled new dramatic blue ombré locks on Monday as she posed in front of Chris Burden's 2008 installation Urban Light at LACMA.

The Bronx-born 28-year-old looked incredible as she displayed her very ample assets in a tiny white Vivienne Westwood corset top with dark-rinse jeans.

Cardi, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, finished her look with white pumps selected by her stylist Kollin Carter and toted one of her many Hermès 'Birkin' bags.

The style has enjoyed somewhat of a revival in recent years thanks to the likes of Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa championing the classic silhouette. And Vivienne Westwood is the designer du jour as far as all things corsetry is concerned...

Here Cardi B can be seen wearing an ivory style from Westwood's current collection. Inspired by corsets of the 18th century, this piece is designed with full boning and made from ivory satin. Dreamy, right?

Novel Gene Regulation Pathway Uncovered

Having an intricate understanding of gene regulation is the underlying key of molecular and cell biology. For many years we have been taught that DNA is double-stranded and RNA is single-stranded, but more recently, new scientific evidence is challenging those traditional notions. Scientists have encountered many cases of RNA forming a double-stranded—or secondary—structure that plays a vital role in the functioning of RNA molecules. Now, a team of Russian scientists have uncovered the role of double-stranded fragments of maturing RNA and showed that the interaction between distant parts of the RNA could regulate gene expression. Findings from the new study were published recently in Nature Communications through an article titled, " Conserved long-range base pairings are associated with pre-mRNA processing of human genes ."

These structures are involved in regulating gene expression, where the double-stranded regions typically carry specific functions and, if lost, may cause severe disorders. Sticky complementary regions create a double-stranded structure. For the strands to stick to each other, U and G should appear opposite A and C, respectively. The majority of the sticking regions are located close to one another, but the role of those located far apart has not been well understood.

"This paper culminates years of research on the RNA secondary structure and its role in the regulation of gene expression. We have published an extensive computation-based catalog of potentially important RNA structures, but the experimental research in this direction is just starting," commented Pervouchine.

Why should embryo transfer be done on day five? | Parenting News,The Indian Express

Going for an IVF treatment? You must educate yourself about embryo transfer and it is done on day five, when it becomes a blastocyst.

A blastocyst is a name given to a five-day-old embryo. The day eggs are removed from the woman's body, it is considered day zero. From here, once the eggs are fertilized with the sperms, the development is monitored in the laboratory, up to the fifth or sixth day, when it reaches the blastocyst stage.

On day zero, all the eggs may not be mature. Some may be immature eggs or M1 eggs. When ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is done, each M2 egg is injected with a healthy sperm, and the M1 eggs are left alone. When conventional in-vitro fertilization (IVF) is done, the sperm sample is added to the petri dish containing eggs and the sperms penetrate the eggs naturally.

On day one: A fertility check is done to find out how many of these eggs have successfully fertilized. Some eggs may not have fertilized at all. Whereas, some eggs may show abnormal fertilization. Then, further progress of the fertilized eggs will be observed.

On days two and three: The embryos reach the cleavage stage; that means the single-cell egg now starts dividing. On day two, around two to four cells are expected to be seen in the embryo. By day three, there are six-eight cells in the embryo, and most of the eggs will reach this stage of development. Earlier, embryo transfer was carried at the cleavage stage. But this can be problematic, because once most of the embryos reach here, it is challenging to pick one or two for transfer.

If only one or two embryos are picked in order to reduce the chances of triplets, quadruplets, and higher-order multiple pregnancies, you may pick embryos that look best under the microscope, but they may not have the growth potential any further beyond this stage. Then, you may have low chances of getting pregnant. The other option is to transfer multiple embryos at this stage (maybe three-four). Here, your chances of pregnancy may increase, but simultaneously, your chances of higher-order multiple pregnancies will increase, too. Hence, it is not an ideal option. Wait till day five, the blastocyst stage, to transfer the embryos.

During natural selection, only the strongest and potent embryos will reach the blastocyst stage on day five. By doing the embryo transfer at the blastocyst stage, clear selection can be made about which one or two embryos have the best potential for growth.

* Firstly, in a fresh cycle, when the egg pickup is done on day zero, it is postulated that there are still contractions occurring in the uterus which may last up to two-three days. By the time one's embryos reach the day five stage, it has already been five days after the egg pick up procedure and the uterine musculature is more relaxed. So, the chances of the embryos getting expelled out of the uterine cavity are lower.

* Secondly, according to the natural physiology in the woman's body, the egg is released by the ovary and picked up by the fallopian tube. The fertilization happens in the fallopian tube and the embryo grows up to the cleavage stage that is day two or three stage in the fallopian tube. It only starts moving towards the uterine cavity at the blastocyst stage. If you put cleavage-stage embryos in the uterus, you are putting them in the unnatural environment as the ideal environment is in the fallopian tube. The ideal environment for blastocyst is the uterus.

Purpose And Whimsy Blend In A Show At LaMontagne Gallery | The ARTery

Kim Faler creates sensorial experiences based on the emotional weight of the everyday. Her materials tend to be delicately treated trash items, made precious by her hand and cast in the bare light of our emotions that fill them.

She brings this pathos to "Something that Feels like Truth," a taut show at LaMontagne Gallery in Boston's South End of recent photography, painting and sculpture. Here, notions of touch and truth are more somber, however.

The stretched peels of "Nope'' make it feel like an outspread hand, or a splay of tongues, recalling the banana's fleeting intimacy with Faler's body. This obscured intimacy is present in "Cull" (2019) a series of three small, square passages revealing Faler's own bronze cast fingers. They feel like artifacts: these small-scale, dimensional works, hung at eye level, make you feel like an archaeologist, peering into a slice of earth and seeing something that looks like your hand. Bright swathes of robin's egg blue, turquoise, and lavender are chipped away to divulge the earthy bronze of Faler's gestured fingers, creating not only tension of tones but a record of movement, and therefore, knowledge.

"My work always begins with the productive act of thinking through process and material," Faler writes in the show's statement. "Much like a personal journal, I begin with what I know, and then attempt to unravel the emotion that sits below the surface." Faler suggests that truth is haptic: visual, sensorial, and articulated how we interact with, and metaphorically touch, one another.

Faler shows us the whole picture in a series of four deconstructed paintings, each obliquely showing her hand in making it. Two are marked by the studio, with a frame of small strips of ripped blue painter's tape around "Yo-yo" (2020) and "Still (Yes)" (2021). It's also easy to read vestiges of recent history in them. The weave of the gauze in "Yo-yo" almost like a shroud, and the cleavage of "Still (Yes)" recalls our fractured social state, divided, but intact.

The exposed stretcher bars of all four in the series are like skeletons, their muscles the stuff (marks, textiles, beads, paint) that Faler builds upon them. Stretcher, surface, mark, and image culminate Painting (a tradition that has made cultural meaning, and passed down cultural knowledge, as long as two humans have needed to communicate together. In a show so much about knowing, this seems purposeful. But it's not all serious, either. Like "Nope," the paintings have a precision of purpose, but a whimsical sensibility. My favorite of these works is "Like Sugar" (2021), which blends image-making with a sculptural dimensionality. A dart is stuck off-center in the upper left of a light pink pane, with Abstract Expressionist-like drips of purple ooze down. In the lower half, strings of beads--recalling both a Rosary and an abacus--droops in the bottom, framed by its exposed stretcher.

Meaning, knowing and the purpose of painting is a lot for a small show, but Faler's tight installation pulls off a purposeful, sensitive treatise on feeling and truth. "Something that Feels Like Truth" would benefit from more breathing room than LaMontagne's neat white cube can offer, to allow visitors to meander more. This show needs time and space: it's best processed and known through repeat visits to arrive at your feelings and truth on it.

Katelyn rocked a cropped top crafted from a vibrant yellow fabric that contrasted beautifully with her bronzed skin. The garment was sleeveless, leaving her sculpted arms and shoulders on full display, and had a zipper neckline that extended from just below her collarbones all the way down to her cleavage.

The look was almost entirely unzipped, the zipper dangling below her cleavage, Katelyn's ample assets showcased in the look. The fabric extended an inch or so below her breasts, leaving plenty of her chiseled stomach exposed as well. 

She paired the sunny crop top with bicycle shorts made from the same bold yellow fabric. The shorts were high-waisted, with the waistband landing just near her belly button. The material hugged her hips and thighs, clinging to every inch of her muscular lower body before ending slightly above her knees.

Katelyn's long brunette locks tumbled down her chest and back in an effortless style, and she posed with both hands on her hips, her eyes closed as she soaked in the sunshine. The stance also served to showcase her incredible physique.

In the second image, Katelyn switched up her pose and got low, hovering about a foot above the tennis court. She balanced on the ball of one foot, her other leg extended to the side in a pose that showcased her sculpted calf.

She kept the sporty look very simple, finishing it off with a pair of crisp white sneakers as well as a  necklace with a minimalist pendant. The necklace drew even more attention to her curvaceous chest, and she kept her gaze focused on something in the distance, lips parted in a sultry expression.
