Geoff Sawyer , most recently Red Bull’s Director of Global Music Services, has been hired by UTA as an agent in its Video Games division. In the newly created role based in Los Angeles, he will focus on fostering collaborations between UTA’s music clients and the gaming industry.
At Red Bull, Sawyer oversaw a team and produced thousands of original songs for the “Sounds of Red Bull” catalog. He also was creative director of the Red Bull Audio Library, which contains licensed catalogs from artists, record labels and production music libraries. Before that he was at Beyond Marketing Group, where he negotiated and managed partnerships between Toyota and artists including Slayer, Steve Aoki, Joey Bada$$ and others.

It appears the Bundestag made a mistake with its own announcement of the legal reform. The announcement, which can be viewed on the Bundestag's website , no longer includes the line: "It is also planned to deactivate cost traps such as 'loot boxes' by default."

Illinois Video Game Ban Bill Faces Uphill Legal, Scientific Battles | WGLT
Illinois and other states have tried, and failed, to pass bans on those kinds of games in the past. Experts say the new bill isn't realistic.
Marcus Evans Jr., D-Chicago, is the state representative behind the bill. He represents the south side of the city, and he's an assistant majority leader in the House. Evans said he's worried games affect mental health, especially among young people.
"The thought is, do they think this is acceptable behavior?" said Evans. "I'm looking at things that are supportive of carjacking and looking to oppose those things, and to bring the question of the acceptance of certain behaviors."

Video game IP is becoming hot property with Netflix working on close to a dozen projects that are based on video games but Netflix has also had a hand in its own video games. Below, we’ll take a look at all the video games and crossovers Netflix has had involvement with.

Sawyer will be based in Los Angeles and will report to Ophir Lupu, UTA partner and head of video games.
Most recently, Sawyer served as Red Bull’s Director of global music Services. Additionally, Sawyer produced thousands of original songs for the Sounds of Red Bull catalogue and acted as the creative director of the Red Bull Audio Library, which contains licensed catalogues from artists, record labels and production music libraries from all over the world.
