Older people used to discover video games through their children or grandchildren; now, Bryant says, it is more "about their generation and their friends." Kids raised on video games in the 1970s and 1980s, when video games first became popular, are inching toward senior status.
In one 2012 study, participants, ages 60 through 77, first took a test measuring, among other things, spatial ability, memory and focus. One group played the video game World of Warcraft, a popular interactive fantasy game, for 14 hours over two weeks. Another group didn't.

Streamers were starving for content, and decades' worth of video game IP was withering on the vine. The world-building potential of TV made it the perfect place to do justice to sprawling video game properties, and episodic releases of narrative games were already perfectly tailored for TV's traditional structure.

Bellevue-based video game creator Bungie , whose titles include Halo and Destiny , is more than doubling its downtown headquarters with a new office slated for completion in fall 2022.
The expansion coincides with company growth and new projects under development, its chief operating officer said Tuesday during an online event with the Bellevue Downtown Association (BDA).

Surely it was too frivolous, too much about the shared joy of slapstick comedy?
For many, cheating utterly ruins the experience of a multiplayer video game. Even if you are not directly affected, it breaks the social contract. "When people play a competitive game together, they conjure the world of that game into existence through mutual agreement: this is the aim, these are the restrictions on how we can achieve that aim," says game designer Holly Gramazio.
