Internet-Famous Sexy Tea Shop Blasted for Allegedly Calling Women a "Bargain"

One of China's most popular regional tea shops — the incredibly-named Sexy Tea — is increasingly finding itself under fire on social media, following accusations over sexually inappropriate language in its advertising that objectifies women and encourages rape culture.

“There are many pretty girls who come to us to buy milk tea. If you meet one by accident, you can whisper to us quietly that you had just jian lou zi (捡篓子),” reads one tea mug of the brand according to the pictures posted.

The 'Sex and the City' Reboot Needs an Authentic Black Woman or It Doesn't Need to Happen at All

It's time to grab the girls, because Sex and the City , created by Darren Star for HBO, is confirmed for a reboot. Audiences fell in love with the fabulous New York City girl squad known for their romantic ventures, fashionista flares, and some of the steamiest sex scenes of the late 1990s and early 2000s.

At times, it seemed like the show that had it all. From humor to adventure and even a little mystery, every episode had something scandalous to talk about. It had everything — with the exception of actually reflecting the real New York and an accurate representation of the diverse metropolis. From the Fenti to the overuse of the word "fabulous," Sex and the City was best known for being fake.

'Gossip Girl' Cast Talks How Reboot Will Tackle Diversity

"I think that what we can say is this—we're making a series in 2020 and 2021," said Alyn Lind in the interview. "It's really important for us to not just talk about these things but also express them as normal things that kids deal with. It shouldn't be this new, exciting thing to talk about, it just exists. It's about normalizing things that used to be different or taboo."

Peak echoed her costar's sentiments, expressing that it's refreshing to see the hit series finally showcase a cast that represents a more authentic New York City.

Opinion | Mara Wilson: Britney Spears and I Learned the Same Lesson About Fame - The New York

It was July 2000, and I was on a press tour to promote the movie "Thomas and the Magic Railroad." I had been promised a day off for my birthday, but when I arrived from Los Angeles the night before, I learned I would be talking to reporters all day. Working on my birthday wasn't new to me — I had celebrated my eighth birthday on the set of "Matilda" and my ninth filming "A Simple Wish" — but this was still disappointing. Aside from a nanny, I was alone.

I don't know why I opened up to her. But I had never been good at hiding my feelings. (Acting, to me, is very different from lying.) And she seemed like she really cared.
