Quick start leads Lake Hamilton girls past Lakeside
Lake Hamilton jumped out to a quick lead en route to a 48-29 rout of Lakeside Tuesday night at Lakeside Athletic Complex.
The Lady Wolves (11-3, 2-0 5A-South) took a 27-10 lead into intermission before the Lady Rams (8-5, 1-1) made a run for a comeback.
"You know, there's a lot of little things we've been working on defensively, and I was really proud of the girls and their execution of that tonight," said Lake Hamilton head coach Blake Condley. "I thought we did some really good things on the defensive end, and, you know, like I said, try to take those things in practice and being able to see them in the game, it was nice to see."

Batesville beats Tuckerman in the girls ballot by 176 votes. Isabella Higginbottom was on fire on Friday. The Missouri signee had 33 points as the Lady Pioneers won on the road at Paragould. Batesville is 12-0 this season.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4Jax Super 6 girls basketball rankings will be published each Wednesday during the regular season with the exception of a break for the holidays. Records are through Jan. 12 games.

Why they're here: Just one game since our last Super 6, a 75-22 blowout of Middleburg. They have two more games this week, including a Thursday home game against Super 6 team Nease. Next week is far more challenging for the Knights. They travel to Hawthorne (9-3) on Monday, Flagler Palm Coast (9-4) on Tuesday and Parker (6-6) on Wednesday.
IHSAA girls basketball: Cowan wants to win county, sectional titles
DALEVILLE, Ind. — Outside of the visiting locker room at Daleville Junior-Senior High School, Cowan head coach Jeff Tharp sat on a fold-up chair.
As fans passed — shouting words of encouragement at the Blackhawks' players after their 63-41 victory over Daleville in the first round of the Delaware County girls basketball tournament — Tharp pulled down his mask to reveal a wide smile.
Over its past three games, Cowan has averaged just under 65 points per game and has beaten its opponents — Daleville (twice) and Delta — by an average of just over 25 points.
