Christopher Ferguson, PhD, Stetson University, and C.K. John Wang, PhD, Nanyang Technological University, examined whether early exposure to aggressive games was predictive of anxiety depression, somatic symptoms, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder 2 years later.

"Video games have been criticized from the moment they came into being and, like with most other new technologies, we've discovered there are benefits as well as shortcomings to consider. My hope is that by publishing this special issue, highlighting cutting-edge research with objective data, we may come to better understand both the promise and peril of videogames," says Editor-in-Chief Brenda K.

Razer shows smart mask, video game chair concept products at CES 2021

Video games often deliver futuristic outlooks with adventures such as "Halo" and "The Last of Us." But game hardware company Razer has an imaginative vision of how you might play games in the near future: the Project Brooklyn concept gaming chair.

The carbon fiber-constructed gaming chair, unveiled at the CES tech trade show Tuesday, has a 60-inch flexible OLED panoramic display that rolls out and retracts, surrounding your field of vision.

And you will feel the game, too, with tactile feedback built into the cockpit-style seat. Adjustable armrests can be used for a mouse or made into a tabletop for a full keyboard.

Postapocalyptic Video Games Saved Me From Pandemic Despair | WIRED

I struggled to play open-world RPGs with idyllic views of fictional meadows and forests. After a while, I could barely bring myself to keep going into my gaming room, a converted closet with a single-window to the outdoors. I'd compare the waterfalls and trees in Skyrim against the walls of my tiny office, which seemed smaller and more suffocating as the weeks dragged on.

I went back and started up Fallout 4 , arguably my least favorite game in the series. The protagonist's default spouse didn't seem to have a lot of screen time to develop a personality, and I felt little incentive to play all of the quests when the main one involves searching for the main character's son. After all, what monster would spend 40 hours doing side missions knowing that their child's been kidnapped?

Video Games About People Playing Tabletop RPGs | Screen Rant

Some RPGs use dice, paper, and boards, while other RPGs are compiled by a computer, and some combine the two to create video games about people who play tabletop games. From collectible card games to Dungeons & Dragons -style pen-and-paper RPGs , video games like Wintermoor Tactics Club and Knights of Pen And Paper 2 explore the odd communities, clubs, and cliques that form around tabletop gaming and how they bring people who would normally have nothing in common together.
