Would “Tenet” make for a good video game? It’s probably not going to happen, but Christopher Nolan is nonetheless keeping the door open on adapting his films into games in the future.
Nolan discussed his thoughts on video game movies during a recent interview with The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley. The filmmaker noted that despite the challenges of video game development, he’d be interested in exploring the medium if the right opportunity presented itself.

Ars Technica's best games of 2020 | Ars Technica
When the world at large looks back at 2020, how much will video games figure into our memories? Frankly, humanity has a pretty massive bullet list of crazy, important, and scary moments that will likely outweigh the importance of, say, knocking out your dailies in an MMO.

Thankfully, development studios quickly figured out the work-from-home thing well enough to finish and launch some incredible video games. (Well, some more than others .) Hence, we've again polled the Ars gaming braintrust to rank the games that provided the most comfort in a year where comfort was in seriously short supply.
Video Game Hell Isn't Nearly Agonizing Enough | WIRED
There's catharsis in this, which is why both of these games have spawned multiple sequels that barely deviate from an established formula. This year's Doom Eternal is identical in purpose to 1993's Doom : You're an unstoppable, heavily armed man on a trip to hell and back, mowing down hordes of demons along the way.
In this, video game hells are often lacking. Villainy in video games is similarly deficient—in big-budget games like the Far Cry or Metal Gear Solid series, you are mostly opposite antagonists that are unquestionably in the wrong, but perhaps have an understandable—albeit completely warped—point or two, like a villain from one of Christopher Nolan's Batman movies.
Here are the architecture-minded video games to play this winter
We here at AN recognize that this will be a tough winter for many of our readers. With the coronavirus pandemic still in high gear, travel is restricted, typical winter festivities have been canceled, and it's likely that the safest thing one can do is just stay home and weather the cold (hence the focus of the 2020 gift guide ).
To help our readers get through a difficult stretch capping a difficult year , AN has compiled a list of video games for everyone from practicing architects looking to flex their modeling muscle to design aficionados who would appreciate deep cut references. Cyberpunk 2077 didn't make the cut for myriad reasons, but AN will have a separate commentary piece available in the coming weeks.

KFC debuts KFConsole video game console that keeps chicken warm
Birds will likely be angry when they hear the newest evolution in KFC's ongoing quest to chicken-scratch out its next viral claim to fast food fame: Frying up a real video game console that can play actual video games — all while keeping your tenders all warm 'n' toasty.
Making good on an earlier viral tease in June that playfully hinted at a (then-fictitious) console that could manage the twin feats of fragging and nomming, the restaurant giant apparently has spent the intervening months applying its magic formula to making its finger-lickin' fast-twitch dream a reality. The chain squawked onto Twitter today as the proud new producer of the farm-fresh melding of cuisine and console gaming you see here.
Video game funding on Kickstarter is at its highest since 2015
Video games have had their best year on Kickstarter since 2015, with over US$22.9million pledged to the medium so far in 2020.
Luke Crane, Kickstarter's vice president of community, has attributed the growth to continued outreach to Japanese creators. "The culture of asking for money in Japan […] for a creative project is very different than it is here. We've been working with the communities there and trying to understand what it is they need to be comfortable to launch and also building up partnerships," he said.
Rising Video Games, Streaming Rates May Threaten Traditional TV 12/22/2020
A industry estimate from Newzoo now estimates global video-game market size to up 20% to $175 billion. And here’s the part pertaining to the pandemic: This is 11% higher than its pre-COVID estimate.
Looking at the subset of the entire business, the video-game streaming business is now a $1 billion market, and set to rise rapidly, according to Macquarie Research. For example, YouTube now has a massive 40 million gaming channels.

For younger millennial and Gen-X gamers, that train left the station a long time ago; many have already been consuming less traditional TV. Of particular interest is the amount of time gamers commit to video games. Skillz, a esports gaming company, says its average monthly users spend about 62 minutes a day playing its games.
