Holmes County a deer hunting hot spot during youth weekend
And this year, the West Holmes freshman is part of a group of young hunters across Ohio who have checked 5,795 white-tailed deer during the 2020 two day youth gun season Nov. 21-22.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources reports Holmes County is among the state's top 10 counties for checking deer during the youth hunt.
All of Ohio's youth hunting opportunities are available to anyone who is 17 years old or younger during the season dates.

The Pella Christian girls basketball team continued their hot start while the Eagles boys couldn't close an early gap against a potential 2A state tournament team in the opening doubleheader of 2020-21 against Albia. The Eagles girls won 66-30, while the boys fell 74-67 against the Blue Demons Tuesday, as heard on the KRLS2 stream.
Pella Christian's girls largely dominated the evening's opener against Albia, never trailing in the contest, as they were propelled by a 24-4 third quarter that pushed the home team into continuous clock territory.

Orange City Iowa — MOC Floyd Valley hosted Sheldon in a Siouxland Conference basketball double header Tuesday night. The Dutch won on scores of 61-45 in the girls game and 67-48 in the boys contest.

The Dutch led at all the breaks in the girls’ game. They were up 15-11 at the end of the first quarter and took a 33-25 lead at halftime. At the end of three the lead was 43-32. The Dutch broke it open in the fourth quarter to claim a 61-45 win.

PONDER — In a rare showdown with Ponder, the Guyer Lady Wildcats dispatched the Lady Lions Saturday on the road with a 65-55 victory.
Guyer found themselves trailing 34-31 at the half despite a 16-point first quarter and 17-point second quarter. However, the Lady Wildcats flexed their muscles in the second half by holding Ponder to just 21 total points while scoring 32 points during that time.
