Kasynn Neely and Millee Mobley both lost their girls' singles matches. Neely fell 8-1 while Mobley lost a close 8-6 decision.
"Hard fought, (Mobley) didn't quite get into the groove until the end of the set," said El Dorado coach Rex Hayes.

In boys' singles, the Wildcats' Baylor Blackburn (8-4) and Wenhua Huang (8-0) both earned victories.
"This was a much needed win for these two. Our first few matches were very tough, and I commend them for riding it out," said Hayes.

GREENFIELD — The one-of-a-kind runner from Greenfield-Central continued her dominance of the event with a one-of-a-kind name.
Cougar senior Audrey Brinkruff —who became the program's first state qualifier last year — won the team's only home event of 2020, the Greenfield-Central CougarPalooza Invitational, held at Brandywine Park, Wednesday.

Junior Matt Wickham led the way for the guys as seven Cougars finished in the top 13. It was also the second straight year a Greenfield-Central runner has won the individual title. Recent grad Conner Kinnaman was last year's champion.

Lakeside tennis team dominates at Texarkana
TEXARKANA -- Lakeside's tennis team rolled Texarkana Tuesday as the Lady Rams dropped just two sets and the Rams losing a single match on the road.
Sophmores Ben Hollis and Ryan Lynch took 8-0 wins in their matches against Bennett and Ives, respectively. Classmate Brodie McAllister took an 8-3 win over Wardlaw, freshman Bartley Bledsoe defeated Chapman, 8-1, and classmate Roman Lancaster took an 8-0 win over Atchley.
In boys doubles, sophomores William Ivy and Griffin Gulley defeated Smith and Ivy, 6-3, 7-5. Classmates Greyson Cornelison and Walker Wood came from behind a set to defeat Floyd and McCoy, 5-7, 6-0, 6-3. McAlister and Lynch teamed up to down Jones and Pendergraft, 6-0, and seniors Brooks Bell and Sam Steven-Assheuer fell, 8-3.

Ariana Hays, 5, of Hot Springs, is one of 500 children worldwide with Down syndrome selected to appear in the National Down Syndrome Society's annual Times Square Video presentation on Saturday.
"As far as when it comes to the Down syndrome community, this is a big deal, because in any other situation other than the (COVID-19 pandemic) ... thousands and thousands of people go into Times Square for this," Hays' mother, Elena Hays, said. "It's a worldwide viewed video, so we're so proud because they picked her for the video; even if it's being done online this year, we'll take it.

Hot Springs woman held; state takes child
Ericka Casey Childs, 45, who lists a Cones Road address, was taken into custody shortly after 9 p.m. and charged with misdemeanor counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and public intoxication.
Childs, who also had a warrant for failure to appear, remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of a $4,000 bond and is set to appear today in Garland County District Court.
According to the probable-cause affidavit, shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, Garland County sheriff's Deputy Darrell Harmon and Sgt. Josh Cannon responded to a residence in the 4100 block of Malvern Avenue regarding a woman who had dropped off a baby.
