Oklahoma girls sprint toward success in after school club
ARDMORE, Oklahoma (KXII) - The pandemic stopped the world in its tracks, but a group in Southern Oklahoma is looking to get young people moving again and be stronger than ever.
"We're teaching these girls how to make friends, how to keep friends, how to name emotions, how to process emotions, what to do when they feel down or when a friend is down," said Girls on the Run of Southern Oklahoma Director Jodi Woydziak.
The afterschool group for girls in third through eighth grades is meant to train their minds and bodies to overcome.

Walmart unveils 2020 hot toys list for holidays. Star Wars, Frozen 2, L.O.L.
It's September, so that means it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and holiday shopping. And Walmart has unwrapped its annual list of the toys kids say they want the most.
The retail giant released its "Top Rated by Kids Toy List" with "36 of the hottest toys for the 2020 holiday season" tested and selected by kids.
In past years, hot toy lists have been accurate in predicting toys children put on their wish lists with many selling out weeks ahead of Christmas. Walmart, Target and Best Buy have said they will start offering deals for the holiday season earlier than ever before amid the coronavirus pandemic to reduce crowds and spread out demand.

RUPERT, WV (WVNS) — Izzy Barnes was diagnosed with Leukemia in July 2020. In just two months, her story has spread through social media, inspiring community members throughout Greenbrier County, like 8-year-old Paiten Surgeon.
“I’m raising money for Izzy because I feel bad for her because my nanny had Leukemia and I want to help her,” Surgeon said.
Paiten Surgeon held a Hot Dog sale on Friday, September 4, 2020, with all proceeds going to the Barnes family.
Ohio dad accused of leaving toddler daughter alone in hot car while he shopped at Walmart
An Ohio father is facing a child endangerment charge after police said he left his 2-year-old daughter alone in a hot car while he shopped at Walmart.
According to WOIO, the incident occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Monday outside the Walmart on Warrensville Center Road in South Euclid. A shopper who saw the child inside a car "parked directly in the sunlight" told a patrolling officer, who responded to the vehicle along with a police supervisor and other officers, South Euclid police said in a Facebook post .
