According to a a plea bargain agreement they signed with authorities last month, Refaeli is to serve nine months of community service while her mother will be sent to prison for 16 months. The two are also ordered to pay a $1.5 million fine on top of millions of back taxes owed to the state.

The prolonged case, built around the celebrity model's worldwide income and the family's attempts to downplay her ties to Israel, damaged her well-crafted public image as an informal ambassador for the country.

State College, PA - From Penn State Grad to Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model: Christie

When Christie Valdiserri graduated from Penn State in 2016, she felt as if she had the world at her fingertips.

Still basking in post-graduation bliss, Valdiserri was preparing to go on a celebratory graduation trip with her best friend and her best friend’s family. There was a tiny patch of her hair missing, but she figured whatever was causing it would pass.

Fast forward nearly four years later, Valdiserri is now Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s first bald model. The journey from blonde to bald certainly wasn’t easy, but she’s maintained the same fierce and driven attitude since being diagnosed with alopecia areata.

Sports Illustrated staff plans to form union after newsroom cuts - The Washington Post

The staff of Sports Illustrated plans to unionize, it told management Monday, saying it wants a greater say in the future of the iconic magazine and raising concerns about the magazine's direction under its new operator, Maven.

Of the 80 or so staffers eligible for the bargaining unit, more than 90 percent signed a petition supporting the union drive, according to organizers. Their quest to join the NewsGuild of New York comes at a time of turmoil for the magazine, according to staffers, who say Maven's leadership is jeopardizing SI's future.
