College men who play video games have unhealthier diets

“Video game usage has been studied extensively in children and adolescence , less in adults, and to our knowledge not at all in college students,” he said. “Because college students are presented with a unique experience compared to other adults and children, it is important to understand how video game users in this specific population behave.”

Researchers analyzed male college students’ diet (n =1,095), percentage of body fat (n = 1,060), and BMI and waist circumference (n = 786). Among the entire cohort, 30.5% did not play video games, 39.4% played moderately (less than 1 hour daily) and 30.1% played heavily (at least 1 hour daily). Students recorded the food they ate over 2 weekdays and 1 nonconsecutive weekend day.

Which video game should you play: FIFA or Football Manager? - Angels on Parade

It's video game week here at SB Nation, and if you're not a gamer but intrigued by soccer-related video games, there may be a central dilemma: FIFA or Football Manager?

Those are the two biggest video games related to soccer out there (yes, I know there's Pro Evolution Soccer, but I think I know all of one person who plays it), but if you haven't been playing either for awhile, you may not know which one would be right for you.

The FIFA series is a soccer simulation game. You play as a team in game situations, with abilities to play long-term "career mode," basically play the plot of the Goal! movies through "The Journey," and collect players in a league and play in a dynamic tournament through FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT).

Pong is one of my favorite video games - Outsports

Give me Pong, Space Invaders, Asteroids, PacMan and Ms. Pac-Man any day over NBA 2K20, Madden, Call of Duty or Mortal Kombat.

Gaming and eSports are very popular right now, especially Call of Duty shoot-em-up games and sports-focused games like NBA 2K20 and Madden NFL 20. That's one reason why Outsports is joining SB Nation and our sister sites in sharing stories related to video games over the next two weeks.

"Beep. Beep, Beep. Brrrr!" Pong actually wasn't the first video game, but Atari's version was the first popular one. The idea of taking on a computer in a game of electronic table tennis was intriguing, and from the arcade to the home, Pong caught on fast.

Media Central Launches ECentralSports As Video Game Ad Spending Doubles

Publishing house continues to expand its influential audience through content diversification and targeting global emerging markets

ECentralSports is set to capitalize on the global gaming and ESports phenomenon, a market currently estimated at US $148.8 billion 2 and growing. From January to March 2020, consumer spending on video games reached $10.86 billion in the U.S. alone, an increase of 9 per cent compared to the same period last year 3 .

"The world of ESports has grown into a massive industry, one with its own hierarchy of superstars. If the past few months have shown us anything-with ESports stepping up to fill the void left by the absence of pro hockey, auto racing, and other traditional sporting events-it's that the potential audience for this is bigger than anyone ever thought.

49ers: What is your favorite NFL video game of all time? - Niners Nation

Video games and sports have seemed to be tied at the hip over the last 30 years. The gaming industry has grown so much that you can play professionally now and make some decent money doing so. I wish a Madden or NBA2K League was around when I spent countless hours playing on my Xbox growing up, but I am glad to see the younger generation have the opportunity.

With it being Video Game Week here at SB Nation, I thought we should share which NFL video game is your favorite of all time?

Wisconsin Badgers video games: midseason report - Bucky's 5th Quarter

Undefeated Ole Miss is right on Wisconsin's tail and the Michigan State and Nebraska are right behind the Rebels. Minnesota and Ohio State are also in the first top-10 of the season, making it an even half of the teams that hail from the B1G. You'll note that the biggest game on the docket this coming week is No. 3 Nebraska at No. 7 Minnesota and if you look ahead one week further, the Huskers travel to Madison for another titanic showdown.

How did the Badgers get here? Mostly thanks to the legs of Jonathan Taylor , who is still leading the Heisman Trophy race, and his nearly 1,200 yards rushing.

Video games and mental health during COVID-19 | Well+Good

“People are using video games to cope with loneliness, depression, anxiety, and even potentially addictions,” she says. “Video games take up so much of your attention that they can push your anxieties away for a while. They can give you a break from it.”
