Hot Springs girl who inspired a movement passes away

Harlee Salmi, a Hot Springs girl whose illness inspired a movement among small towns in western Montana, has passed away. She was six years old.

"At 12:20 PM today Harlee flew off to heaven!" Taylor wrote. "She fought until the end but was surrounding by her family and deeply loved! Our hearts are shattered but we know she is running and playing again! I have no more words at this point. We are planning a service and will have details soon!"

Review: 'How to Build a Girl' captures the spirit of its brilliant source material | The

British author, presenter and columnist Caitlin Moran's 2014 semi-autobiographical novel "How to Build a Girl" isn't just a great book about being a teenage girl. It's a great book about being a writer; about being the biggest dreamer in a small town, yearning to break free. It's about how when we're learning to be real people in the world, we experiment with building a persona, brick by brick, which hopefully, eventually, becomes a person.

Awkward teen Johanna gets her first taste of fame when she recites a poem about friendship (it's about her dog) on the local TV station, where she absolutely bombs and lets slip about the family's border collie breeding operation, jeopardizing their welfare benefits. Hoping to make a bit of scratch, she sends off a writing sample to the rock 'n' roll rag D&ME, at the behest of her brother and best friend, Krissi (Laurie Kynaston).

Dinner with the Greeks - Hillsdale Collegian

It's 5 p.m. in Hillsdale, Michigan. Students across campus are hungry after a long day of classes, complaining, and coffee consumption. Hundreds will head to the Knorr Family Dining Room to weigh their options and eventually land at Sizzle. Another bunch will spend precious Liberty Bucks at A.J.'s. Some will even flee to Handmade or Burgers Unlocked.

But at 5 p.m. in the Greek houses, a bell rings or someone yells "Dinner!" and everyone rushes down the stairs to find the source of the smell that has wafted up to their bedrooms.
