In fact, with all the strides forward the industry has made in recent years when it comes to delivering content via the internet, video game streaming services are ushering in a new digital age for the average gaming fan.
And these services are only going to improve going forward. Two of the biggest companies in the streaming arena, Google and Microsoft, are backing products that are, for all intents and purposes, in their infancy. Google Stadia continues to add a swath of additional titles to its stores and tweaks its service as new players sign up, but it's hit more than a few road blocks on its rise to fame.

As officials and experts worked to stem the global spread of the novel coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China, and has left more than 1,500 people dead, gamers have turned their attention to parallel, imaginary struggles.
Foremost among them: Plague Inc., a strategy game that rose to the top of Apple Store charts in China, the United States, and elsewhere as coronavirus fears mounted. First released by U.K.-based studio Ndemic Creations in 2012, the game, of which there are a handful of variants, asks players to take the part of a pathogen, helping it evolve to wipe out humanity.

Nintendo To Open Airport Video Game Lounges
Passengers traveling through a handful of North American airports have a new sort of lounge experience to look forward to this month: gaming pop-ups. On Thursday, Japan-based electronics and gaming company Nintendo opened up the first of a series of interactive lounges in airports across the United States to showcase the new gaming experience on the Nintendo Switch. Travelers will have free access to a spectrum of Nintendo experiences as well as the ability to purchase a system on the spot.
