KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Many have looked to the sky and scratched their heads this week after noticing mysterious white objects floating high above places like Dayton, Ohio and Kansas City, Missouri .
Could it be a UFO? Some type of weather balloon? Many shared images and videos on social media, and the speculation was rampant.
The white orbs first seemed to make news headlines on Tuesday in Ohio. A bright, white dot was seen in the sky over Dayton and surrounding areas.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump doesn't seem to be a believer of aliens or UFOs flying through Earth's atmosphere , although he has been briefed on them.
ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, in a wide-ranging interview , asked Trump about recent news reports about Navy pilots spotting flying objects and what he made of the apparent UFO sightings.
"I want them to think whatever they think," Trump said, raising his eyebrows and slightly grinning before adding that he did have "one really brief meeting on it."

The Irish Aviation Authority is investigating reports of bright lights and UFOs off the south-west coast of Ireland.
It began at 06:47 local time on Friday 9 November when a British Airways pilot contacted Shannon air traffic control.
She wanted to know if there were military exercises in the area because there was something "moving so fast".

The pilot, flying from the Canadian city of Montreal to Heathrow, said there was a "very bright light" and the object had come up along the left side of the aircraft before it "rapidly veered to the north".

Dutch website UFO Meldpunt, which is dedicated to UFO sightings, received more than 150 reports about the satellite train, with some speculating that it might be aliens.
