This is exactly what happened at Devcon 5, with Orochi. Large chunks of the sponsorship money for the four-day Ethereum -focused conference were plugged into this DAO. Then, each of the respective parties communicated among themselves to organize ideas! What it's like to survive the mysterious, vaping-linked lung illness | Advisory Board Daily

According to the data, about 80% of patients in the reported cases are younger than 35, 21% are 18 to 20 years old, and 15% are younger than 18. The number of reported cases of the illness is up by 219 from last week, the Journal reports.

Anne Schuchat—CDC's principal deputy director, who is overseeing the agency's investigation into the matter—earlier this month said the number of reported cases is rising at a "brisk" pace, and the cases typically involve "really serious injuries." She said, "[W]e don't know how well people will recover from them, whether lung damage may be permanent."

According to CDC, a majority of patients with the illness have reported using products containing the compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the high-inducing chemical found in marijuana! The Colchester Fire Department was called in to respond and found “no detectable readings of carbon monoxide,” according to LeBaron. The operating room doors had been opened and patients had been cleared from the area when firefighters arrived.

All of the operating rooms at Fanny Allen are controlled by one air handling system, which changes the air in the rooms 20 times every hour, making it hard to pinpoint the source of the problem.

The air system was checked and filters were changed Thursday, but nothing was found out of the ordinary, according to LeBaron.

“We have tried to figure out any other sources that might be the culprit and so far, it’s a puzzle,” LeBaron said.

Mysterious Oil Spill Becomes New Environmental Crisis for Brazil - The New York Times

RIO DE JANEIRO — A mysterious oil spill that has polluted shores along a vast area of Brazil's northeast may have resulted from unspecified criminal activity, and a foreign country could be responsible, President Jair Bolsonaro said Tuesday.

An estimated 100 tons of crude has drifted toward land since early September, polluting some of the country's most pristine beaches and forcing Brazilian officials to grapple with yet another environmental crisis! Orochi DAO new sponsor pledging guide - medium.com ...orochi - dao ...Thank you very much for showing interests on joining Orochi DAO , a special purposed DAO to manage Devcon5 sponsorships and co-create "The year of DAOs" event collectively (please read here for ...!! The government has already come under close scrutiny, and heavy criticism, after an unusually intense season of forest fires in the Amazon.

Now, oil has been spotted on at least 132 beaches affecting 61 municipalities in nine states, the country's Environment Ministry said.

Officials have said the state oil company, Petrobras, is not responsible for the spill and that the crude is neither produced in nor exported to Brazil.

Quite a lot has been going on:

Hubble Space Telescope Scientists See Milky Way Galaxy Absorbing Extra Gas from Space

The Milky Way seems to be gobbling up a mysterious amount of gas—more than it spits back out, according to a new paper.

So, where's the extra mass coming from? Study author Andrew Fox from the Space Telescope Science Institute suggested that perhaps the Milky Way was slurping up mass from the intergalactic medium, as well as its smaller satellite galaxies, according to the release.

The authors note that the calculations are based on solely a snapshot of the Milky Way today, and that caution should be taken when trying to extrapolate the rates that mass is flowing over time, according to the paper. Additionally, the ultraviolet absorption by these high-velocity clouds is just one way to measure the rate that the galaxy is eating and spitting out gas. These measurements present a higher rate of gas flowing inwards than radio-based measurements. Plus, the authors write, they only looked at fast-moving clouds; maybe the slow-moving clouds would reveal a different story.

Patients with mysterious vaping related illness being readmitted as little as five days after

In Utah, there have been two cases where patients were readmitted after they resumed vaping, according to Dixie Harris, a pulmonologist and critical care physician with Intermountain Healthcare in Salt Lake City. The health system has cared for more than 60 cases. Both patients resumed vaping and "they ended up with surgery and significant lung complications," she said. To protect their privacy, she declined to provide additional details.

Doctors and officials are particularly concerned about the young people who have fallen ill. Eighty percent are under 35 years old, and 15% are under 18. Of 80 patients under 18 for whom CDC has complete clinical information, 56 required intensive care and almost one in three needed mechanical ventilation to breathe, Ms Schuchat said.

In many cases, doctors say, teenagers have told them they vaped as a way to deal with stress and anxiety. Doctors said those underlying problems need to be addressed.
