Now questions have been raised about one of the company's employees claiming to be based in the UK.
Mysterious fire burned in soil at California gas facility - The Morning Call
A California utility is trying to find the source of a small ground fire at its large natural gas storage facility.
A Southern California Gas Co. spokesman said the fire extinguished Tuesday did not appear to come from natural gas stored deep underground at Aliso Canyon outside Los Angeles.
Chris Gilbride says the company discovered the flames while evaluating whether a wildfire last week caused damage. No damage or leaks have been reported.
The storage area was the sight of the nation's largest known methane release when a 2015 blowout lasted four months and forced 8,000 families to evacuate.
The company will test the soil to find the source of the tiny blaze that burned in sandy soil on a steep hillside.
AG Barr Expands Mysterious Review Into Origin of Russia Investigation - NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
A review launched by Attorney General William Barr into the origins of the Russia investigation has expanded significantly amid concerns about whether the probe has any legal or factual basis, multiple current and former officials told NBC News.
The prosecutor conducting the review, Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham, has expressed his intent to interview a number of current and former intelligence officials involved in examining Russia’s effort to interfere in the 2016 presidential election, including former CIA Director John Brennan and former director of national intelligence James Clapper, Brennan told NBC News.
Durham has also requested to talk to CIA analysts involved in the intelligence assessment of Russia’s activities, prompting some of them to hire lawyers, according to three former CIA officials familiar with the matter. And there is tension between the CIA and the Justice Department over what classified documents Durham can examine, two people familiar with the matter said.

The Blob: Paris zoo debuts mysterious self-healing organism that has nearly 720
The Paris Zoological Park announced this week it is unveiling a first-of-its-kind exhibit Saturday featuring a slimy organism called "The Blob." The exhibit will showcase its rarities for the public and allow visitors to learn about the odd creature.
The unicellular mold is known officially as physarum polycephalum, or the "many-headed slime." It has no mouth, stomach, eyes, brain or nervous system, but it can detect and digest food. The zoo said the organism first appeared a billion years ago.

"The blob is really one of the most extraordinary things on Earth today," said Bruno David , the director of the French National Museum of Natural History in Paris. "It's been here for millions of years, and we still don't really know what it is."
The zoo said the blob has almost 720 sexes and has no problems reproducing. It's been studied since the 1970s, but the mold remains mostly a mystery to scientists.

Barn owls lurk in the shadows of night, but most people would never know it unless they happen to hear some of the spine-tingling vocalizations produced by this poorly known predatory bird. Shiver-inducing shrieks and screams quite capable of piercing the veil of darkness are often produced by the barn owl. This owl doesn't utter loud hoots like the great horned owl. Instead, the call of the barn owl is not likely one to be soon forgotten because of its raspy, nails-on-the-chalkboard nature. A hearer could easily be misled into misinterpreting the shrill vocalizations as originating from something far more ghoulish.
According to the website for the Owl Research Institute in Charlo, Montana, barn owls are the most widely distributed owl in the world, and they may be one of the most common, as well. In Montana, where ORI is located, barn owls observations are rather sparse. ORI has documented 12 barn owl nests and made numerous observations in the last 12 years, according to its website. Likewise, the barn owl is not too often observed in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
