2 Arizonans Will Compete On 'American Idol' 2026. How To Watch Live

At least two Arizona singers will be in the mix on Season 24 of “American Idol,” which started earlier than usual this year on Monday, Jan. 26.

It's still too soon to say how long those two will last, of course. And there's a chance there may be other Arizona singers added when the show's producers finalize the list of which auditions will be shown.

For now, though, we can safely say that Arizona “Idol” hopefuls Kitti Taye and Lanii will be seen auditioning for judges Lionel Richie , Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan .

Kitti Taye is a 22-year-old aerospace analyst from Laveen. She auditioned with her college a capella group and takes a lot of inspiration from Carrie Underwood, who won Season 4 and went on to enjoy one of the most successful post-“Idol” careers of any former winner before returning as a judge on Season 23.

You can check out Kitti Taye on TikTok , where you'll find an emotional cover of "Cardigan" by Taylor Swift and a soulful rendition of "Wondering Why" by The Red Clay Strays.

Lanii is a 19-year-old high school student from Phoenix. Traveling to Nashville for the audition was her first time on plane. Her dad is her inspiration for auditioning.
