Shark Tank fans may have settled in to watch their favorite entrepreneur show on October 15, but the show wasn't on — here's why.
Regular TV viewers know that shows will often go on hiatus throughout the TV season, which on broadcast TV still more or less coincides with the school year. Shows often go on hiatus at the holidays, or in months right after sweeps — like shows will often go on hiatus in March right after four new episodes that aired during February sweeps.
However, it's not a holiday right now, nor is it right after sweeps. So here's the reason Shark Tank was preempted tonight — ABC has launched a new franchise entry in the 9-1-1 universe, 9-1-1: Nashville . It premiered on Thursday, October 9, in the middle slot of primetime between long-running parent series 9-1-1 and the ever-popular Grey's Anatomy , which just debuted its astonishing 22nd season.
Shark Tank will return like normal next Wednesday, October 22, with this episode: "Business owners present the Sharks with investment opportunities, including gear for female fighters, an at-home sprout grower, high-protein ice cream bars, and an airline for pets and their humans. Alexis Ohanian makes his Guest Shark debut."
There have been several guest Sharks on the newest season of Shark Tank — Michael Strahan and Chip and Joanna Gaines so far, with Ohanian, Allison Ellsworth and Fawn Weaver left to make their debuts.
Pete Davidson's sock company (he's an investor) called DoubleSoul , which honestly — we tried them and they're great socks, if a little expensive.
A protein-packed on-the-go snack called Im'Peccable Chicken . Honestly, we tried this one too and it's pretty good.
The Snorinator , for couples where one person snores and the other can't get a good night's sleep.
