Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan 's strong bond has been making their fellow American Idol judge Lionel Richie feel excluded, according to a source.
"Luke can't stop talking about Carrie and how he's been to her farm, and gets along with her hubby, Mike [Fisher] ," a source tells Globe . "It's getting to be a little too much for Lionel."
The source explains that the "Country Girl" singer, 49, and the 76-year-old former Commodores lead singer — who have been judges together on the hit singing competition since season 16 in 2018 — used to be "tight."
The source adds that Richie has "tried to invite himself to their casual get-togethers in Tennessee," but hasn't been successful.
The 42-year-old "Before He Cheats" songstress and Bryan both reside with their families in Tennessee.
In July, Bryan spoke to Taste of Country Nights and said Underwood "had a great time in the role" as judge, and when asked if she would return for the next season, he responded, "My prediction would be highly favorable."
However, Bryan did tell the outlet he had an "incredible" time not only with Underwood, but also Richie and Idol host Ryan Seacrest.
