Calls In Police⁘ In Fresh Scandal Ahead Of Show Launch | Celebrit...

Strictly Come Dancing has reportedly "brought in the police" over new allegations. The dance competition, which is due to return later this year, is said to have alerted the Metropolitan Police after lawyers started an inquiry into the hit BBC series. Bosses had already reportedly launched an inquiry into the show after allegations of cocaine use by two stars earlier this month . It is believed investigators are examining other claims relating to the series, the details of which have not been specified, according to The Sun on Sunday. Strictly is set to return to screens in just a few weeks' time as the 23rd series launches, with the 2025 lineup confirmed.

A source said to The Sun on Sunday: "It's a significant new development in the BBC 's recent string of crises that they have now got the police involved in investigating allegations surrounding Strictly.

"This is a very dramatic turn of events. Despite all the show and its team have been through over recent months, it's hugely controversial that you've now got Scotland Yard detectives probing Strictly.

"This is their biggest prime-time family entertainment show, so it's not a good look for the BBC ."

According to reports, the allegations were made in a legal submission by law firm Russells on behalf of former celebrity contestant Wynne Evans , who was axed by the BBC after apologising for using "inappropriate language" during the launch of the Strictly tour. The names of the cast members involved have not been disclosed.
