This is exactly what our Friday needs, a beautiful Cockatoo doing her exotic dancer routine to Pink Pony Club . Someone pour me a drink.
I always think about those pole dancing classes and how it looks like an amazing and fun form of exercise, but then I remember what I look like and how old I am, and then I laugh and laugh. It seems so hard! These women, and birds! - are true athletes. And doing it in heels, hang on, I gotta stop laughing again. If there is ever a market for dancers who, you know, just sit in the chair with Netflix playing in the background, sign me up. I'm so there.

The video uploaded to the TikTok account for @Mrskehlers has earned this pretty bird quite a few fans, and one person asked, ⁘How is this not viral yet?⁘ Another added, ⁘She needs her own little pink cowboy hat.⁘
That's what I said! Someone gets this sweet Cockatoo some sequins and a stage! She's made to be a star!
In short, heck yeah Cockatoos love music ! There are so many videos online of these smart and adorable birds waiting for their jam to come on so they can either sing along or do a little dancey-dance.
These birds absolutely love to dance because not only are they highly social little guys, they also are born with a sense of rhythm. Studies have shown that some parrots, including Cockatoos, can actually synchronize their movements to music , which is rarely seen in the animal kingdom. This is likely because they are vocal learners—just like humans—meaning their brains are wired to process rhythms and patterns in sound.
Smithsonian Magazine explains, "Psychologists think responding to music with movement is a sophisticated form of behavior, and it is intriguing because it does not seem to be necessary for a parrot's existence. Rhythmic movement in response to sound has also been noted in chimpanzees, which sometimes perform "rain dances" in the wild at the start of a storm."
