Gemma Collins Slams Strictly Come Dancing And Says She'll 'Never' Do Show After Backstage Scandal...

The former TOWIE star says the show's ongoing controversy surrounding complaints from celebs and allegations against professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima has put her off ever heading for the BBC dancefloor.

Gemma has appeared on Dancing on Ice and Celebrity Big Brother , but Strictly isn't for her. ⁘No. I don't fancy it. I saw all the stuff [about the scandal]. I don't know what it is about the show that people fall over backwards about,⁘ she explained.

The show has been plunged into crisis following complaints about a number of their professional dancers regarding their behaviour and harsh treatment of contestants in and around training. It was seen as too aggressive, overly physical or competitive.

Graziano and Giovanni will not be in the new series and other professionals are also understood to have received complaints. Giovanni denies any wrongdoing. Graziano says his ⁘intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime⁘.

Gemma's claims come after she faced criticism from the Advertising Standards Agency for promoting a pulsating headset on social media that claimed to fight depression. She came under fire for her post last year which endorsed a gadget purported to treat depression without seeing a doctor, the British watchdog decreed.

In May 2023, the 43-year-old shared a snippet of herself wearing the £400 Flow Neuroscience AB apparatus, while explaining its functionality. This device is designed to emit subtle electrical currents to the frontal cortex, supposedly helping to balance and manage mood. It boasted of being able to ⁘reduce depression in 88 per cent of people, according to Flow's data⁘.

Despite arguing that she thought she had provided enough clarity by posting a clear message with a caption stating ⁘consult your GP always without fail⁘, Gemma was still found to be in breach by the ASA. They argued that simply telling people to ⁘consult⁘ a doctor only encouraged an initial appointment and didn't emphasise the need for ⁘ongoing supervision⁘. As a result of their findings, Gemma was ordered to take down the advert.
