Iran-linked hackers attack Israeli education and tech organizations

Hackers suspected of being tied to Iran's government have been deploying new destructive malware against Israeli organizations, according to recent research.

The company said on Monday it had blocked a series of destructive cyberattacks on Israel that began in January and continued at least until October of this year, with the hackers primarily targeting educational and technology organizations.

Iranian Hackers Launch Destructive Cyber Attacks on Israeli Tech and Education Sectors

Israeli higher education and tech sectors have been targeted as part of a series of destructive cyber attacks that commenced in January 2023 with an aim to deploy previously undocumented wiper malware.

The intrusions, which took place as recently as October, have been attributed to an Iranian nation-state hacking crew it tracks under the name Agonizing Serpens, which is also known as Agrius, BlackShadow and Pink Sandstorm (previously Americium).

New 'ObjCShellz' malware allows hackers to remotely control a Mac | Macworld

Researchers at Jamf Threat Labs have discovered a new malware that can give hackers access and control of a Mac once it has been infected.

The malware, which was created using the Objective-C programming language, can run shell commands that are received from the hacker’s server, effectively giving the hacker control of the Mac.
