Wednesday morning is a busy one for the moon, which is scheduled to meet up with the giant planets Jupiter and Uranus.
Uranus will be a great deal dimmer than the moon and Jupiter at a magnitude of just 5.8, but it could still be visible under dark skies with high-magnification binoculars or most telescopes. The two bodies will be separated by around 5 degrees, with the moon to the lower left of Uranus.
Webb telescope shares stunning new image of star birth to mark its first anniversary | <span ...
The James Webb Space Telescope has captured a stunning new image of the closest star-forming region to Earth, located 390 light-years away.
The release of the image marks the first anniversary since the space observatory began observing the universe.
Webb's detailed closeup showcases the chaos of the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex, where crisscrossing jets from young sunlike stars hit interstellar gas and cause it to glow.
I Survived a Weekend at Biosphere 2 Pretending to Be in Space - Scientific American
In 1991 eight people in Arizona entered a strange contraption: a 3.14-acre glass house called Biosphere 2 . They would stay for two years in the enclosed facility in the Sonoran Desert, which was home to five different ecosystems.
It was an early “ analog astronaut ” experiment: a study that asks people on this planet to pretend to be spacefarers . The idea has always intrigued me. I love a “Can I actually do it? How will I react?” challenge.
