DeFi Traders Lost $228 Million to Hackers in 3 Months - Decrypt

Hackers intensified their efforts to hack cryptocurrency projects in the past year and mostly had DeFi in their crosshairs, according to a new report from Immunefi.

The report, compiled by the bug bounty platform Immunefi , found that overall hacks across blockchains went up by 63% in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the same period last year.

NFT theft fell 23% in June as Fraudsters stole $2.27m worth of NFTs

This was according to an analysis by PeckShield's . The analysis revealed that fraudulent activities were higher in May when a record of $2.95 million worth of NFTs were stolen.

Per the report, notable marketplaces like Blur emerged as hotspots where almost 86% of the stolen funds were sold, closely followed by OpenSea with a percentage of 13.76.

More organizations confirm MOVEit-related breaches as hackers claim to publish stolen data | ...

A number of organizations impacted by the mass hacks exploiting a security flaw in the MOVEit file transfer tool , including energy giant Shell and U.S.-based First Merchants Bank, have confirmed that hackers accessed sensitive data.

According to Brett Callow, threat analyst at Emsisoft, the widely exploited vulnerability in Progress Software's MOVEit file transfer service has affected more than 200 organizations since the mass-hacks began last month.

With his electric Kia EV6 running low on power, Sky Malcolm pulled into a bank of fast-chargers near Terre Haute, Indiana, to plug in. As his car powered up, he peeked at nearby chargers. One in particular stood out.

Instead of the businesslike welcome screen displayed on the other Electrify America units, this one featured a picture of President Biden pointing his finger , with an "I did that!" caption.
