On today's episode of the 5 Things podcast: A new VR game called "Barnstormers, Determined to Win" takes users back to the 1940's as baseball players in the Negro Leagues. The game's focus throws a spotlight on a difficult time in history for people of color and aims to build empathy.
First, the triumphant experience of so many of its ball players who earned hard fought recognition for their talent, but it also aims to give gamers the experience of discrimination that ball players were forced to endure.

Instructors at the University of Louisville are using virtual reality (VR) tools to promote active learning with their students. Through UofL’s Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning, instructors have piloted VR activities for an array of course subjects.
"I thought that if I could show the students exactly what I was trying to describe using 3D models, the students would have a better understanding from the start," said Danielle Franco, associate professor in the Department of Chemistry.
