Trump indictment: Conspiracy theorists target familiar bogeyman

The backlash against Soros, a lightning rod for conservative groups opposed to his funding of liberal causes, stems from donations he made to the criminal justice group Color of Change, which endorsed Bragg for DA in 2021.

Conspiracy theorist Micha Kat gets over 2 years in prison for sedition | NL Times

Conspiracy theorist Micha Kat was sentenced by a court in The Hague to 28 months in prison, of which 4 months were suspended after being convicted on several charges, including sedition and threats.

During the trial, the prosecutor said Kat deliberately played his supporters by taking advantage of the uncertainty during the pandemic. Kat played a leading role in this, the prosecutor said. Kat admitted in court that he sometimes overstepped the mark in his videos.

Rabbit Hole Syndrome: Falling Prey to Conspiracy Theories

Although many of us view conspiracy theories with skepticism, for these particular individuals they're real, absolute, and undeniable certainties. In fact, the beliefs that gravitate around the conspiracy form a fundamental element of their identity.

The rabbit hole syndrome is a recent theory. Its authors, Robbie M. Sutton and Karen M. Douglas have based it on a section of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.
