Expert says 'highly agile' ScarCruft threat group seeks to expand attack vectors to get around security measures

In a blog post published Tuesday, Zscaler states that it discovered the DPRK threat actor ScarCruft, also known as APT37, uploaded a malicious Excel add-in (XLL) file to software development platform GitHub on March 15.

Hackers Attack WI Court Computer System | WSAU News/Talk 550 AM · 99.9 FM | Wausau, Stevens Point

Court officials say in a Thursday statement the cyberattack began early this week and was continuing into Thursday afternoon.

Director of State Courts Randy Koschnick adds in the statement the court system has taken action to counter the attack, while state Supreme Court Chief Justice Annette Ziegler says the invasion of the system hasn't caused a data breach, and court services continue as normal.

Ransomware: US cyber officials make urgent push to warn businesses about vulnerabilities to ...

US cybersecurity officials are unveiling a new program to warn critical American companies that their systems are vulnerable to ransomware attacks before the hackers can successfully strike.

The new federal program – details of which were shared exclusively with CNN – is needed because "the pace and the impact of (ransomware) intrusions are still unacceptable," said Eric Goldstein, a senior official at the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
