NASA establishes 'Moon to Mars' office to get astronauts to Red Planet | Space

NASA has set up a new office to manage the agency's crewed activities at and around the moon and Mars.

"The Moon to Mars Program Office will help prepare NASA to carry out our bold missions to the moon and land the first humans on Mars," NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said in a statement on Thursday (opens in new tab) (March 30).

Recent cosmic explosion likely the "brightest of all time," NASA says - CBS News

NASA astronomers recently spotted a burst of radiation that was quickly crowned the "BOAT": the brightest of all time. 

The source of the radiation, which NASA said "swept through the solar system" on Oct. 9, 2022, was a gamma-ray burst, the most powerful kind of explosion. NASA said in a news release that the gamma-ray burst triggered spacecraft detectors.
