The Internet Had a Weird Day at the Supreme Court | The New Republic

This week is Tech Week at the Supreme Court, at least unofficially. The justices returned from a month-long break to hear oral arguments on Tuesday in Gonzalez v. Google , the first of two back-to-back cases about Silicon Valley and legal liability.
At the center of the case is something colloquially known as Section 230 . The 26-word provision of the Communications Decency Act of 1996 states that a website's creator "shall [not] be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information" posted by a third party.
