In a ruling this week, Chief U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia in San Antonio said Mann had been subjected to an "unlawful seizure" when she was detained and questioned in May 2018 as authorities investigated Ussery.

The case has been drawn out, in part because Ussery and Mann had to undergo psychiatric evaluations to determine whether they were competent to stand trial. Authorities concluded they were.

Everton Man Sentenced to 21 Years for Leading Meth Conspiracy | USAO-WDMO | Department of Justice

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – An Everton, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court today for leading a conspiracy to distribute nearly 1,000 pounds of methamphetamine in southwest Missouri.

Cheyenne W. Conn, 47, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge M. Douglas Harpool to 21 years in federal prison without parole.
