Artificial intelligence system learns concepts shared across video, audio, and text | MIT News | ...

Humans observe the world through a combination of different modalities, like vision, hearing, and our understanding of language. Machines, on the other hand, interpret the world through data that algorithms can process.

So, when a machine "sees" a photo, it must encode that photo into data it can use to perform a task like image classification. This process becomes more complicated when inputs come in multiple formats, like videos, audio clips, and images.

"Artificial intelligence!" | Community | gladwinmi.com

A fter a busy morning of doing jobs out of the job bucket (too many for just a job jar), it occurred to me that I better get around to taking my nap, or I might just miss my afternoon respite.

I look around at the world, and it seems there are many different types of intelligence. There seem to be awesome examples of brilliance, awful examples of poor thinking, and many degrees of intelligence in between.
