Neptune is orbiting 30 times farther away from the sun than Earth with one year lasting 165 Earth years. The ice giant's seasons, too, last much longer than those on Earth — more than 40 Earth-years each.

In his programme notes James Conway writes that this is "likely to be the first performance of Rimsky-Korsakov's The Golden Cockerel at most theatres on tour." That may well be so for York, but Opera North staged it in Leeds some two or three decades ago.
But it's the greatest merit of Conway's superb production for English Touring Opera that the fantasy and crazy comedy flourish alongside these uneasy resonances. The opera is introduced by an Astrologer who goes on to explain that this is an old tale, but one that still has some relevance.

On the other hand, the audio presentation is a mixed bag. The VO performances are well done and appropriate for the bleak world, but the rest of the sound design ranges from just acceptable to jarring.

Spotify announced Thursday it was adding the ability to respond to phone calls and other new features to its Car Thing infotainment system.
Car Thing users will be able to see incoming calls and either answer them or dismiss them right in the Car Thing interface. They'll also be able to switch between Spotify and other media using presets, voice, or tapping its screen.
