FTC Takes Action Against Company Formerly Known as Weight Watchers for Illegally Collecting Kids’ ...

In a complaint , filed by the Department of Justice on behalf of the Federal Trade Commission, the agency alleged that WW International, Inc., formerly known as Weight Watchers, and a subsidiary called Kurbo, Inc.

"Weight Watchers and Kurbo marketed weight management services for use by children as young as eight, and then illegally harvested their personal and sensitive health information," said Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina M. Khan.

FTC Kicks Off National Consumer Protection Week this Sunday, March 6 | Federal Trade Commission

The Federal Trade Commission will launch the annual National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) this Sunday, March 6.

The complaint announced today names as defendants Brooklyn-based B4B Earth Tea LLC, B4B Corp., and its owner, Andrew Martin ("Busta") Sinclair.

"Without any scientific evidence, the defendants claimed that drinking their herbal tea is more effective in preventing COVID-19 than approved vaccines, and cures anyone who has gotten ill within 24 hours," said Samuel Levine, Director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection.

FTC Approves Final Order Imposing Divestitures and Protecting Retail Fuel Customers following ...

Under the terms of the final settlement, Global and Wiehl must divest to Petroleum Marketing Investment Group six Global retail fuel outlets and one Wheels retail fuel outlet, among other conditions.

First announced in December 2021 , the complaint alleged that the acquisition would have significantly increased concentration in markets for the retail sale of gasoline in the Connecticut towns and cities of Fairfield, Bethel, Milford, Wilton, and Shelton.
