American Idol's Bobby Bones makes major revelation about show following shock departure | HELLO!

Bobby Bones announced his departure from American Idol last month ahead of the show's milestone 20th season.

The much-loved mentor has now revealed the real reason he left the program, following four years on the show.

He explained all when asked about his absence from the Season 20 promos during a fan Q&A on Instagram.

American Idol's Lauren Spencer-Smith Signs With Island/Republic

Lauren Spencer-Smith , on the back of her viral, massive hit "Fingers Crossed" has finalized a label partnership with Island Records and Republic Records.

After releasing a snippet of "Fingers Crossed" on social media in November, the song, written by Francisca Hall, Jakke Erixson and Lauren, went immediately viral for for the 18-year-old American Idol 2020 alum and Vancouver Island native.

Ahead of LI gig, 'American Idol' champ Ruben Studdard talks his Luther Vandross tribute show |

Back in 2003, the season 2 finale of "American Idol" between singers Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken was a TV ratings bonanza drawing 38.1 million viewers. Fans were separated into opposing camps and in the end Studdard won by a small margin.

Throughout his time on the show, Studdard, 43, was often compared to Luther Vandross as both men shared size, ethnicity and a smooth vocal style. In fact, guest judge Gladys Knight was so impressed with his talent she famously nicknamed him the "Velvet Teddy Bear."
