The doors of the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul are closed. The music school's young students, teachers and faculty are staying home — they have reason to fear. According to founder and director Ahmad Sarmast, "armed people entered school property" recently.

The artist is Dylan Hunter, or Dÿlan, is from the Mt. Pleasant area and will be attending school at Sacred Heart Academy.
“Dÿlan has always enjoyed music from a young age,” John Hunter, Dÿlan’s father, said. “He's danced with Professor Ricky ‘Bird’ Clarkson since age 8 and got involved DJing at 9 with a silent disco at Breakaway Music Festival in Grand Rapids.
