Cautious Clay Makes Music About Love in the Digital Age - The New York Times

Claim to Fame: Joshua Karpeh, who is known professionally as Cautious Clay, is a musician, songwriter and producer known for his dreamlike R&B songs about love in the digital era, when identities are carefully constructed and interactions are mediated by technology.

A classically trained flutist and saxophonist, he has collaborated with John Legend and John Mayer. When composing a song, Mr. Karpeh often starts with the melody, then writes stream-of-consciousness lyrics infused with wordplay. "I love language," he said.

MPs call for complete reset of music streaming to ensure fair pay for artists - BBC News

The music industry is weighted against artists, with even successful pop stars seeing "pitiful returns" from streaming, a committee of MPs has said.

They are calling for a "complete reset" of the market, with musicians given a "fair share" of the £736.5 million that UK record labels earn from streaming.

Music on Third returns to Marquette with great turnout

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) - Music on Third returned Thursday night in downtown Marquette. 15 local bands set up in front of businesses along Third.

The free community concert is hosted by the Marquette Downtown Development Authority. Staff with the DDA say with no Music on Third last year, excellent weather and tourists in town the turnout for this first Music on Third was very large, possibly the best ever.
