Music, but Make It Outdoors - The New York Times

We here at Summer in the City are particularly excited about the return of the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival to Prospect Park's Lena Horne Bandshell — a venue we love for its convenience and a series we love because it's mostly free.

The opening night of the summer series kicks off on Saturday with a show with the neo-soul singer Ari Lennox, the rapper Kamuu and the R&B artist Nesta. Artists to follow include the Roots on Aug. 12 (a ticketed show, though proceeds will benefit the festival), Skip Marley on Aug.

Hyperpop artists to know | 100 gecs, Rico Nasty, more | Alternative Press

Although it has the word in its name, hyperpop is a far cry from the pop music you hear when you turn the radio on. A relatively new concept, hyperpop is the product of forward-thinking 2010s pop music combined with SoundCloud's nightcore scene.

PC Music owner A.G. Cook , as well as SOPHIE and others associated with the record label, are widely credited as the names that gave hyperpop its start in the mid-2010s, later materializing it into a microgenre.

Is Aaron Lewis' 'Am I the Only One' the GOP country anthem? - Los Angeles Times

"Am I the only one," Lewis asks in the song, "who thinks they're takin' all the good we've got, and turnin' it bad?"

To those who disagree with him he has these friendly words: "If you don't like it, there's the f—ing door."
