Music teacher hits all the right notes serving the community for over 45 years | WANE 15

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – After over 45 years of music education, Carla Doles is being honored for the impact she has made to many in the community. Doles gave 27 years to Carroll High School of Northwest Allen County Schools and 18 years to Norwell High School in Ossian.

Sarah Roberts Hoos, who organized the event, said that Doles has left a lasting impact on so many young people over her decades in education.

Record Store Day brings lines of customers to local shops: ‘Music means so much to

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The 14th annual Record Store Day was celebrated in music shops across the country on Saturday for music lovers to come and grab limited edition vinyl records to support their local stores.

Record stores like Plan 9 Records had a line out the door before opening, and owner Jim Bland said that’s completely normal.

The city is now accepting applications for a full-time "Huntsville music officer" position, which is being touted as the first of its kind in the U.S. Salary is listed as between $52,603 and $89,211.

Boulder Creek Festival flowing strong, bringing out thousands for music, food and fun Saturday

Grills and music riffs were hot, and the lemonade and beer were cold as thousands gathered at the Boulder Creek Festival on Saturday.

The three-day event kicked off Friday and will wrap up Sunday. Last year’s 33rd annual festival took a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. Typically, the festival takes place over Memorial Day weekend, alongside the popular Bolder Boulder race.

She's a complete contrast to what the public perception of her wardrobe is, for which she's been trolled aplenty.

Though there was a Miley Cyrus phase in school, she giggles. "I was learning Hindustani classical so I would focus on that. There was a Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston craze in school too!" she laughs. Was music inevitable for her? "Yes, but just having the DNA and genes isn't enough.

Music-Filled Weekends return to Old Town Plaza

Music ranges from mariachi to jazz to country, all with the goal of enhancing the square’s ambiance. Many of the audience members were shopping near the plaza when they heard the music and wandered into a pleasant surprise.
