As shoppers continue to lean on cozywear even with COVID-19 restrictions lifting across the U.S., we’re seeing a new micro-trend on the rise, which still falls under the lounge/activewear category: tennis skirt.
Model and social media influencer Amelia Gray Hamlin proved this is true when she took to Instagram to showcase a sporty look from Alo Yoga . Her ensemble included a lilac-colored halter crop top, which she teamed with a pleated mini skirt.
In addition to Hamlin, stars including: Kendall Jenner, Kate Upton, Saweetie and more have been sported in the flowy piece. As for why the skirt is so popular all of a sudden? We’re blaming it on comfort. Tennis skirts give off a preppy vibe, but are easygoing because of the material and silhouette. This year, much like last year, it’s all about being relaxed. Pleated skirts were also big on the spring ’21 runways of Miu Miu and Lacoste.

There are perfectly good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In ' Great Outfits in Fashion History ,' Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.
For me, this look is all about the T-shirt , which I'm pretty sure helped usher in that whole sheer T-shirt, black bra thing we were doing back in the mid-late 2000s. There's even something about the way the sunglasses hang off the neckline. It was a look that I certainly copied countless times in that era: Even if I couldn't afford an Alaïa skirt, I could find a black bra and sheer white tee at Urban Outfitters to tuck into my cotton American Apparel one, and that became a go-to "going-out" look for me. Even to this day, a white tee tucked into something high-waisted is one of my favorite outfits, and my collection of white T-shirts borders on excessive. Sadly, none of them are The Row, which the Olsens famously debuted with the "perfect T-shirt;" I assume Ashley's wearing an early sample in this photo, which was taken at a Calvin Klein runway show not long after The Row launched.

Experts say that fashion is crafts, not art, but when you see a suit that requires 1,200 hours of hand embroidery, when you think of all the processes necessary to create a garment, from the idea to the creation of the fabrics, the thousand details such as interlinings, linings, buttons, buttonholes require a lot of skill, enormous patience and creativity to do it. Why does someone consider that a painting is more important than a unique Haute Couture suit, I don’t know, I leave the answer to the experts, but the reality is that fashion exhibitions, whether about a designer, or a specific topic, attract hundreds of thousands of people. There are exhibitions like those of the MET in New York, Heavenly Bodies, for example, which have broken world attendance records, above other established ones. Something has fashion that generates debate, that’s for sure.

While inconsistent Emily would be no match for hyper-intelligent Blair Waldorf in a battle of wits, she does stand a fair chance in the wardrobe department. It is also worth noting that Eric Daman costume designed for GG , while Patricia Field of Sex And The City fame designed for the newer Emily In Paris .
Blair Waldorf was a lover of bright colors and had a delicious collection of outerwear throughout the show. Verdant green coats were a definite favorite, as she wore several of those, and this gorgeous frock coat made it to the iconic scene where Chuck finally professes his love for her .
Emily wore this box-fit green coat, featuring several pockets along the length when she went to an influencer event. She paired it with bottle green plaid, and a bucket bag in another shade of green. Her outfit looked way too boring and mismatched. Blair wins.
In a U-turn from her usual eccentrically colorful outfits, Emily wore this particularly chic plaid and Victorian-inspired collar combo. The cropped blazer looks surprisingly good with jeans, and the peeping cuffs are a win too.
Blair was the queen of really big collars, especially at school, but this outfit lacks a little flair. A nice jacket would have saved this slightly frumpy-looking shirt. This round goes to Emily.
Who doesn't love a top to bottom Barbie pink outfit? It is a bold choice, but if executed well, can make for an excellent outfit that will make heads turn. Emily wore a gorgeous pink coat, which was then paired with a pink denim mini skirt, pink knee high socks, pink pumps, and a pink argyle sweater... and it was a bit much.
The better way to do it was Blair's way. Her scalloped pink coat is elegance personified, with a tonal textured skirt and a contrasting periwinkle blue shirt which was a nice bit of color blocking for Emily to learn from. Needless to say, Blair is Queen Bee for Barbie.
How could anyone be in France and not wear a beret? Emily rocked berets of all colors, prints, and textures throughout the show. No outfit of Emily's was complete without her little hat, whether it belonged there or not.

Ariana Grande and James Corden are celebrating the end of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in a melodious way!
On Tuesday night (June 15), The Late Late Show with James Corden debuted a musical sketch titled “No Lockdowns Anymore” featuring Corden and Grande. The duo sang a song to the tune of “ Good Morning Baltimore ” from the Tony award-winning musical, Hairspray .
The singer and talk show host happily make their way down a New York City styled street as they sing about all the activities they get to do now that lockdown is over. Corden sings, “Hot people at brunch, and I've got a hunch, mimosas are gonna be bottomless.”
When Grande makes her appearance, she sings about not being afraid to get a haircut and going back to the gym. Marissa Jaret Winokur , the original Broadway actress for Hairspray’s Tracy Turnblad, also makes a surprise cameo with the star! Together they sing, “So oh oh, let’s hit the club, get drunk, and get matching tattoos.”
