Minister Marion Hall Orders Critics To "Don't Even Start" After Sharing New "Sexy" Outfit –

Female members of the Dancehall and Reggae fraternity are running to gospel deejay Minister Marion Hall's defence after she posted a photo of herself clad in what some may consider to be 'too-sexy' clothes.

The former Dancehall Queen sought to issue a disclaimer for those who may think the photo was reminiscent of her 'Lady Saw days'.

The current photo of the Room in My House gospel deejay shows her clad in a white mini-dress which shows off her bosom, paired with a grey jacket.

On music producer and Zip FM disc jockey ZJ Sparks' Instagram page where the photo was shared, she encouraged Hall to carry on with whatever she is doing, as she was looking lovely.

But it was Reggae artist Shuga who voiced a scathing rebuke of those who dared to criticize the Dancehall legend's mode of dress.

"Mi seh it bun mi fi see some of the comments bout her dressing not appropriate, because she's a woman God. I'm so happy God is focused on the heart and soul, many of you who are high and holy ina unu long sleeve turtleneck dress going straight to hell because yaaal not right on the inside," she wrote.

"I just wanna do this short video to address the comments that I heard some of you judging me because I have some cleavage. I can't help myself. I can't help myself baby boys. God is the one who create this body and guess what? I can't do anything about what God bless me with. If god bless me with some boobs, then I got some boobs. Sometimes I'm preaching they fall, they jump out. Can I stop that? No, because God has enhanced me naturally," she had stated.

Hall had also repudiated statements by some social media users that she appeared to be 'backsliding', indicating instead that she was simply "dressing according to the occasion" arguing that it was she "cant be covered every day" in Miami as the city was hot.

"You won't see me on the road in the big hats that you see me preaching in and the long dresses. If I dress like that you say I look old. I wear shorts and I wear skirts, not way up but I wear skirts. I got tattoos, yeah, I got a few a them so what can I do? I can't please you baby," the Oh Lord we Need You artiste said at the time.

What is Twitch's hot tub meta and why is it so controversial?

Since early April 2021, the Twitch community has become divided over a recent trend dubbed the ‘hot tub meta’. As its name would suggest, the trend features streamers wearing their swimwear in a hot tub whilst chatting to their audience. Some streamers opt for a cheaper alternative, such as a blow-up swimming pool.

Others skip the pool altogether and use a green screen to simulate the hot tub. Streamers within this category are usually female, however, some male streamers have jumped on the bandwagon. Many do so earnestly, and others represent a caricature of the female streamers who are dominating the medium.

There’s fishing, woodworking, cooking, and even studying. The majority of content on the platform still centres around gaming, however, Twitch has expanded and made space for much more than that. A majority of viewers are also males between the ages of 16 and 24 years old .

This is also not the first time women on Twitch have come under fire for what they wear. For a long time, there was a cohort of female streamers branded ‘titty streamers’ because they showed what the community deemed too much cleavage on stream. After much hounding by the community, Twitch introduced a revised terms of service to reduce the amount of ‘titty streamers’ on the platform.

Now an important distinction needs to be made here, and it was best illustrated by streamer xoAeriel during a Kotaku interview.

"You can be sexy without being sexual," she said, "and I think that's where a lot of people have hot tub streams confused. Are bikinis sexy? Yes. But are they sexual? No. Same with low-cut shirts. We are allowed to have unlimited cleavage. Is cleavage sexy? Yes. But is it sexual? No."

I feel like the hot tub meta is an issue of regulation on twitch to set transparent guidelines and support across platform.

But I feel like the anger of the hot tub meta is being taken out on the streamers and is one step above thinly veiled misogyny.

The majority of the criticism towards hot tub streamers fail to understand that the female body is not inherently sexual. In journalist Brooke Meredith’s excellent article outlining this distinction, she writes:

[2021] Proteinase K Market Expected to Rise Steadily throughout 2027 | Thermo Fisher Scientific

Proteinase K is a broad-spectrum protease that cleaves peptide bonds between aliphatic and aromatic amino acids' carboxylic groups. It is favorable for general protein digestion in biological samples.

The global proteinase K market is expected to reach US$ 35.5 million by the end of 2027, with a value of US$ 21.9 million in 2019.

In industrial processes, due to poor thermal stability of proteinase K, the aminolysis and hydrolysis reactions are reduced, which is expected to hamper growth of the global proteinase K market.

Proteinase K is increasingly being used to remove DNA from food samples in order to search for the existence of genetically modified species. One such application includes mixing frozen northern shrimp homogenates with Lysis Solution CBV and Proteinase K after homogenization in 200 l of water.

The focus of key companies in the market on adopting strategic partnerships to extend their portfolio of products. In July 2018, Norgen Biotek Corp. collaborated with Diversigen Inc. to deliver a comprehensive service that includes sample selection, ambient temperature stabilisation for transport and logistics, and the purification of high-quality, inhibitor-free nucleic acids from all forms of microbiome samples and formats.

Key companies contributing in the global proteinase K market are Norgen Biotek Corp., Worthington Biochemical Corporation, F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., Meridian Biosciences Inc., Qiagen N.V., Promega Corporation, Merck KGaA, New England Biolabs, Sisco Research Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., and BIORON GmbH.

Environmental Factor - May 2021: Robin Stanley awarded tenure

Robin Stanley, Ph.D. , an Earl Stadtman Investigator who heads the NIEHS Nucleolar Integrity Group, has been awarded tenure by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

NIEHS Scientific Director Darryl Zeldin, M.D., announced the honor April 5. “Robin was my first tenure-track investigator hire as scientific director in 2014,” he said. “We are all very proud of her accomplishments over the past seven years.”

Stanley’s mentor at NIEHS, John Cidlowski, Ph.D. , also expressed excitement about her recognition. He is deputy chief of the Signal Transduction Laboratory. “It’s a well-deserved tenure,” Cidlowski said. “She has exceeded all of our expectations scientifically here at the institute.”

He noted that Stanley had published 17 papers during her time on the tenure track, serving as senior author on each. “That’s extraordinary!” he observed.

First and foremost, she practices structural biology — the science of shedding light on a biological entity by visualizing its structure. “If you want to understand how a protein or a nucleic acid or anything from inside the cell works, you have to be able to see it, because that will tell you so much about what’s going on, and its function,” she said.

Stanley began her research career by employing X-ray crystallography to define structures. More recently she and her team have been among the foremost users of the cryo-EM microscope at NIEHS.

“Cryo-EM has been an amazing technique over the last few years,” she said. “When I came here [in 2014], I was hired as a crystallographer. There was no cryo-EM microscope. And now, several years since we got the cryo-EM facility, it’s just amazing to see the change, to see how much the institute has embraced and adopted cryo-EM.”

“The ribosome is a hugely fundamental part of the cell,” she said. “You cannot survive without ribosomes.” These cellular particles decode messenger RNA to help build proteins. Proteins in turn support critical biochemical processes.

She credits cryo-EM with facilitating considerable progress in ribosome research. “It has been incredibly beneficial in helping us look at those machines and figure out their components and how they work,” she explained.
