MAFS' Alana Lister covers up after sporting cleavage-baring tops on the reality show  | Daily

She often rocks cleavage-baring tops and revealed she underwent a breast enlargement while appearing on Married At First Sight.

But Alana Lister covered her décolletage up as she spent the day at Witches Falls Winery in Tambourine Mountain, Queensland, with friends over the weekend.

The 30-year-old school teacher did stand out in a sequined long-sleeve top that flaunted her abs, teamed a pair of black flares teamed with white Go-go boots.

That's not like you! Former Married At First Sight star covered up in a long-sleeve top as she went to Witches Falls Winery with friends over the weekend with friends... after sporting cleavage-baring tops on the Channel Nine show

Alana let her hair down at the gathering with her gal pals, enjoying several glasses of rose wine.

The popular reality star recently warned against undergoing cosmetic surgery overseas, saying there are often extra charges involved.

She revealed in an Instagram Q&A on Sunday that while she was happy with the results of her 'Bangkok boob job', she wouldn't recommend going under the knife in a foreign country.

She advised women curious about surgery to search for options closer to home instead of using a medical tourism company like she did.

In COVID Origins Storm, Fauci Denies US Funded Controversial Study in Wuhan - The Wire Science

Bengaluru : Earlier this month, former New York Times and Science reporter Nicholas Wade published a 10,000-word article on Medium arguing that the possibility that the novel coronavirus was a human-engineered pathogen and that it had escaped, accidentally or otherwise, from a lab in Wuhan, China, couldn't be dismissed out of hand.

Soon after it was published, Wade's article was seized upon by both political commentators and conspiracy theorists; it also drew comments from some scientists that the virus's origins warrant further investigation. At the same time, the people whose research Wade criticised in the article, including Anthony Fauci, have hit back at the article and said Wade has got many of his facts wrong.

In his article, Wade cited the work and comments of molecular biologist Richard Ebright and virologist David Baltimore, among others. His principal argument centred on the furin cleavage site. This is the part on the virus where a human-body molecule called furin chops off two parts of the virus to help the latter attach to a cell. Wade argued that the cleavage site's properties suggested controlled manipulation, not natural evolution.

NOW – Dr. Fauci: “NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain of function research in the Wuhan institute” pic.twitter.com/CiMA22ueGX

According to Fauci, the NIH gave a grant to EcoHealth Alliance, "a nonprofit focused on research that aims to prevent pandemics" ( source ), which in turn passed a part of it to the Wuhan Institute – but not for GoF research. The Hill reported, "Fauci noted that although the NIH did fund a project at the Wuhan lab, it was not meant for 'gain of function' research into human-made superviruses" but to investigate bat viruses that could infect humans in future.

Wade also criticised Peter Daszak, president of EcoHealth Alliance, on two fronts. First, for failing to disclose a conflict of interest after he put together a group of experts in the pandemic's early days to claim the virus couldn't have come from any lab. The conflict was that Daszak had funded work at the Wuhan Institute. Second, Wade alleged that neither Daszak nor anyone else could have known the virus's origins so early into the pandemic – February 2020 – so claiming it couldn't have come from a lab at that time was disingenuous and "unscientific".

Another person, Kristian Andersen, virologist at the Scripps Research Institute, and his colleagues had also claimed in a research letter in Nature in March 2020 that the virus had evolved naturally. Wade wrote that the Andersen group's conclusion was "grounded in nothing but two inconclusive speculations".

Daszak has called Wade's piece "biased, disingenuous and wildly erroneous," and speculated that Wade "got paid" to write it. Daszak also cited a Wall Street Journal article (paywalled) that quoted a statement issued by the NIAID:

Men's shorts are at a dangerous level. | Opinion | itemonline.com

Each generation wears their shorts at a different level on their thighs. The "greatest generation" won a world war and made our nation great, but they wore their shorts really short! The level of their shorts was a standard they seldom lowered.

A picture of the Boston Globetrotters basketball team taken in the 1940-50 era will illustrate my take on this. They wore short shorts!

The baby boomer generation lowered the hems on their shorts to about 3 inches above the knee and each generation since has lowered them ever lower until now, at which time we have a "shorts crisis". Generation X and later the Millennials started lowering the waist band as well and the descent continues. Both have dropped to a point that makes me consider it should be declared a priority for concern. Right up there with Border Security.

Recently, while making my way through the fresh vegetable department of our grocery store I found myself facing the back side of a young man whose shorts were so low I felt uneasy. The hems were mid-calf, the crotch was a lateral bridge just above the knees and the waist was so low there was three inches of butt cleavage visible above his beltless waistband. If he had leaned over or taken a deep breath that garment would have descended to his ankles. And there was no evidence of underwear.

I gave it a short moment's thought before moving over to him and saying in my nice motherly voice, " Son, do you realize you are showing a portion of your buttocks to those of us buying tomatoes? I know your mama taught you not to show your butt in public".

I was prepared for any reaction except the one I received. He looked totally surprised. Neither angry, defensive nor resentful just surprised. He hitched his britches up a bit and moved off among the shoppers. He never looked back!

At a memorial service recently we were seated in a pew, settled in and to our surprise directly in front of us sat a fellow, neither young nor slim, who was leaning forward in his pew. But directly in our line of vision, through the open space between the seat and the upper part of the back rest was an expanse of truly un-pretty rear end cleavage which promoted the desire to move to another spot in the chapel which we did. I wanted to hear the eulogy and remember the recently deceased to whom we were paying honor without the distraction of an exposed "cracker barrel" in the pew ahead.

At this point in time, men's shorts resemble culottes and I truly wonder how basketball players keep from getting their sneakers caught up in all that flapping material around their calves.

Did COVID-19 Leak from a Wuhan Lab? – Reason.com

In March, World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called into question the organization's report on the origins of the COVID-19 coronavirus. The stage-managed investigation didn't take place until a year after the pandemic started, and reckoned that it's most likely that the virus jumped to humans from animal species, deeming the lab leak hypothesis extremely unlikely. Tedros observed , "Although the team has concluded that a laboratory leak is the least likely hypothesis, this requires further investigation, potentially with additional missions involving specialist experts, which I am ready to deploy."

"I do not believe that this assessment was extensive enough. Further data and studies will be needed to reach more robust conclusions," he added, noting that "all hypotheses remain on the table." For his troubles, Chinese officials are suggesting that Tedros' comments are being used by "some forces with ulterior motives [that] are challenging the authority of and science behind the joint report." But if the Chinese government has nothing to hide, why has it stymied investigations into the origin of the virus from the very beginning of the pandemic?

In an extensive analysis at The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists published last week, science journalist Nicholas Wade evaluates the likelihood that the virus has a natural origin versus the possibility that it escaped from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Noting that ultimately "neither the natural emergence nor the lab escape hypothesis can yet be ruled out," Wade nevertheless concludes that the "proponents of lab escape can explain all the available facts about SARS2 [COVID-19 virus] considerably more easily than can those who favor natural emergence."

Wade is particularly suspicious of EcoHealth Alliance researcher Peter Daszak who oversaw a National Institutes of Health grant used to fund research on coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He notes that Daszak was involved in organizing an open letter published in The Lancet in March 2020 that decried "rumours and misinformation" suggesting that the COVID-19 virus did not have a natural origin. The letter did reference nine different early studies that concluded that the virus most likely had a natural origin. It is, however, notable that Daszak was a member of the WHO investigatory team that went to China in January. Daszak's longtime association with the Wuhan Institute of Virology certainly does have a conflict of interest whiff about it.

However, Wade is correct when he observes, "The records of the Wuhan Institute of Virology certainly hold much relevant information. But Chinese authorities seem unlikely to release them given the substantial chance that they incriminate the regime in the creation of the pandemic."

It is notable that on September 12, 2019, the main database of samples and viral sequences of the Wuhan Institute of Virology was taken offline . Institute researchers claim that that was done to prevent hacking. There is, however, no reason WHO or other investigators cannot now be given access to it.

"Absent the efforts of some courageous Chinese whistle-blower, we may already have at hand just about all of the relevant information we are likely to get for a while," Wade concludes.

The WHO investigation was pitifully inadequate. On March 4, a group of skeptical researchers issued an open letter questioning the WHO report and calling for an independent "forensic investigation" into the origins of COVID-19. If the Chinese government has nothing to hide concerning the origins of the COVID-19 virus, then it should welcome such an inquiry. If not, then Chinese researchers and officials should expect continued—and increased—skepticism about their assertions that the COVID-19 virus was not introduced to the world via a lab leak.
